Gary Bobileff has corrected me. Gary indicates that these shocks are rebuildable. I don't recall who told me they were not, but just wanted to set the record straight.

Alberto: this info from another owner.

"All the Armstrong Shock Absorbers were recently rebuilt by DRE Inc./WREP Industries,
    1529 Burgundy Parkway, Streamwood, IL 60107, tel (630) 213-1010"

From my own files from before I have a note that Armstrong Shocks can be rebuilt at 100 Mercer Ct. Suite 120, Lexington KY 40511, tel (859)252-2496

All this info is from a couple years old so I have no idea if it is current, and I am not affiliated with any of the above. But its worth checking into to establish what costs are.

I've identified today a picture I've shoot in 2008 : SV #4998 that was sold new by Hollebecq back in 5th Januray 1972. It was originaly Azzuro Mexico/Senape. I will soot better pictures tomorrow. Owner claims to be 2nd one only, he missed to tell truth about the 2nd Swiss owner before him... better to say it is only a 2 owners Belgian car...

Good work Olivier, and thanks for sharing.

The info I have for this car is as follows:

1972 Miura P400 SV, chassis # 4998, engine # 30690 (split sump), production # 695, completed at Sant Agata on the 5th of January 1972.

"Azzuro Mexico" (2-463-090 light blue) with "Goby" (brown with cloth inserts) to Belgian Lamborghini concessionaire Hollebecq. Air-conditioning dashboard fitted, but no components installed (twin distributors).

    First owner in Belgium.

Second owner Hans Durst in Davos, car Swiss-registered ZH.316430 in Switzerland. Repainted yellow but interior left original.

Coys auction in Silverstone in 1997.

    Third owner in Belgium.

Featured in "Auto Gids" magazine in 2003.

It lives in a museum now?

I'm pretty sure not, I understand Koni's were being used by well before the SV's were a twinkle in Bob's (or Ferruccio's) eyes.

BTW, Joe, I owe you a call.

0706 is an early P400 by the way, a prototype in fact.

In fact to be even more accurate, 1st owner was "Baron" Guy Jehay Van Den Steen as recorded on original title. Now it's sleeping in a collection not far away from Gent - Belgium... it makes about 100 to 300 km per year what a waste with such brilliant "machina"...

Bingo, to the right the tahiti blue LP400 with S-Flares

BUt there must be something wrong since I know that another yellow SV #5052 still has these plates, accidented 2005 and still not repaired.

    BTW this pictures and #5052 don't have ZH-316430 but ZH-31643-U U=garage plates.

Here's a scan of #4998 when it was in the Coys Auction Catalogue in July 1997. The car was part of the Hans Dürst (a swiss ice-hockey champion) collection which was offered at the auction.

The car was also awarded as "Car of the show" during the first ever SpaItalia in 2002.

I don't question the ownership of Hans Dürst but the mentioned plates, since these plates belong to the first owner of 5052 who still possesses the car...

As can be seen the yellow car with the ZH-plates has the mirrors mounted on the doors whereas 4998 has them on the front hood.
