I know exactly what you're going through, I'm goin through it too. My best friend started fighting last week over a stupid little thing, and after trying to call her I got text saying that she doesn't want to talk to my anymore. This is pretty much the only person that I have, it's hard, but I'll get through and she'll come around in time(*crosses fingers*). But its gonna suck for a while.

Relax mate. She'll realise and come back ;)

Btw, it's always great to have a best friend from the opposite gender.

Brian, I think you kind of answered your own question. Getting out and meeting new people...easiest to do if you do your hobbies/activities and join a club. So if you're into bicycling, you can join a club and meet new people there. I've never been the type to *actively* look to meet new people. I just meet them when I cross paths and let stuff happen. Also, it doesn't have to be an activity you already do, but something that may interest you that you want to learn more about. i.e. sailboat racing!

One of my friends owns a couple horses (technically one is a pony) and she keeps them at a barn with about 20 other horses. Her and her husband can afford a property to have their own stables, but choose to have them at this larger facility more for the social aspect. I didn't understand it at first, but after visiting a few times, I started to see that it actually is a place like that. My mom used to lease horses for a number of years when I was growing up, but never for those reason (just hunter/jumper lessons after work) so it was a new thing for me.

For sure. Being an only child I think I'm use to needing time to sit in silence by myself. Although the older I get the less time I need of that and the more I need company of others.

    lmao!

exactly, bar or church, and I'm serious! I'm convinced that the main driver of religion beyond explaining the unknown is for community and friends. Growing up in the church and people heavily involved in the church, it was mostly about community, nothing spiritual about it. a group of the elders and active members would rotate houses each Friday getting their drink on and then going out for dinner. they might as well have been at a bar and God or Jesus not mentioned all night except maybe slurring a prayer when finally at the restaurant.

I met one of my current best friends at a community college auto repair class. we were both on the down low in this class filled with recent high school grads, by the last class he knew about my 328 and I knew about his 20 car collection. :)

Another good friend I met doing trail runs through the woods while drinking beer and getting poison ivy.

When one goes from being a teen to young adult their focus changes. Your buddies may grow apart from you. Sure it can be lonely in transition but you will survive, get over it & move on. Career & romantic relationships may be the focus in ones 20s. Friends are never again the same as in high school & college. It’s just the way it is.

Work on your career & get your future on track. The gym is a great place to meet gals & guys to go into other activities w/. Got bike?

I work 12 hour days now, 7 days a week, far from home, with people I find it hard to respect.

    Thus... I drink a lot.

I've been thinking about picking up the guitar, played it a few times before, twinkle twinkle little star, but it was difficult since I am left handed and right handed guitar felt very awkward.

Its incredibly therapeutic once you learn a few chords. Stressed ? Just strum for awhile.

Somehow, i think you should do it mate. I feel so much better now knowing the fact that i'll be busy starting this coming weekend. After mastering the guitar, i plan to learn the bass, and master it by year's end.

This thread has really sorta woken me up, in terms of how much time i'm wasting that. I spoke to one of my friend, and who knows, i might even take up 1-2 new language classes to keep me from being bored next year :D

LoL..gimme a buzz when your here again mate, i'll take you to some places, which are probably better than Beach Club :D
