Thanks! If only that was good enough to guarantee work on a steady basis... Several other south Florida Fchatters also are UM School of Architecture alumni. RobertM, Mpatrizio, and BocaExotics all are grads.

This dealer has a car that I would have been interested in, but there are several threads going back to 2006 calling into question this dealer's integrity, so I'll avoid Euro Motorsport. Apparently the company is connected to Rottenstein in some way.

Saw in the paper that Scamstein was out of Federal prison with an undisclosed medical issue. Perforated rectum perhaps?

Euro Motorsport is NOT "connected" to Rothstein as you suggest in any other way than being a former customer. He was also a customer of FFL, Prestige, Braman and MB of FtL. Obviously, prior to the implosion of his world, he was as respected a person as there could be. Seems like the guy you would want as a client. Unfortunately, not everyone is who they are perceived to be. Positions change.

At the end of the day, Euro Motorsport is open for business everyday without restriction, scrutiny or involvement of any government entities or outside influences. We continue to try to provide the best cars we can find at a reasonable price.

I don't know if I have spoken to you or not but I am always available. I wonder what car it is you are looking at.... Maybe you should look a the car itself and give your own opinion. Remember, there are generally three sides to every story. Yours, mine and the truth.

Yeah, old SR got himself involved with some serious players, it seems.

If he goes underground/protective custody I doubt he has the self-discipline to maintain his anonymity for very long. He's too much of an egocentric, narcissistic blowhard. (But he gave a lot of money to charity....oh, wait: that wasn't his money).

So what happens now...he stays in protective solitary confinement for his entire stretch and then into a protective program a few decades from now when he gets out? Sure hope a few years of partying was worth it.....

    EXCLUSIVE!!!!!!
I just got my hands on the transcripts from the FBI discussing their new identity.

They are obviously using code names.

The agents begin suggesting possible new locations for the family.

Agent: We have places your family can hide in peace and security: Cape
Fear, Terror Lake, New Horrorfield, Screamville --
    Homer: [enthusiastically] Ooh, Ice Creamville!
    Agent: Er, no, Screamville.
    Homer: [scared] Aah!

One agent suggests a new identity for Homer.

Agent: Tell you what, sir. From now on, you'll be, uh, Homer Thompson
at Terror Lake. Let's just practice a bit, hmm? When I say,
"Hello, Mr. Thompson," you'll say, "Hi."
    Homer: Check.
    Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson.
    Homer: [stares blankly]
Agent: Remember now, your name is Homer Thompson.
    Homer: I gotcha.
    Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson.
    Homer: [stares blankly]
    [A long time later]
Agent: [sighs in frustration] Now, when I say, "Hello, Mr. Thompson,"
and press down on your foot, you smile and nod.
    Homer: No problem.
Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson! [stomps on Homer's foot a few times]
    Homer: [stares blankly]
[to other agent] I think he's talking to _you_.

Not a lot of news has broken, but there has been recent speculation about arrests pending. Who knows...federal cases are like that. The federal prosecutors and investigators don't generally blab to the press like the locals do. The US atty for this district is said to be a pretty hard case. He probably turned SR into a sobbing blubbering ball of fat before he was finished with him.

I've also heard that the bankruptcy attorneys are playing hardball with some of the peripheral characters like the Levensons and others. They're serious about clawbacks.

It turns out he was cooperating with the Feds to set up an alledged Sicilian Mafia guy for the 30 days preceeding his arrest. Tends to hurt your shelf life I'd think. Rothstein is now located somewhere other than SoFla.

In other news, as Jack mentioned above, very agressive clawbacks. Some that have been mentioned: his wife for $1.1M charged on the company credit card, other members of the law firm for excessive compensation, $20M that was loaned to employees, a jewelry owner where he bought a lot of bling and others I'm sure.

Sentencing was extended an additional 30 days.

    It keeps unwinding.

    http://www.wsvn.com/news/articles/local/MI85782/

This is the wife of the man that is charged with the murder of Melissa Brit an attorney at Rothstein's firm.

She says she will name names.

This is starting to get interesting.

EDIT: She claims to have the skinny on the political contributions.

Standard operating procedure even if there is cooperation. Gives her legal team more time to work on negotiating her deal, I think.

Found this thread while browsing. It is amazing how very smart people can be very stupid. Sometimes they dont think anymore. Here is an article on his "wife".

    http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/03/10/1523437/kim-rothstein-continues-living.html

It is clear that in cases like this it is all about the women. I dont know these people so it is all speculation. But Human nature is the same everywhere. You got a rich middle age not too good looking guy who got a women that is eXXXtremely attractive and probably outstanding in bed and knows how to pull the right strings and the guy loses it.

Sure he must have had his own ego to feed but she was very aware..
Now is she going still do him jail or move to greener pasture?
As for the "neighborg" in this thread who wanted to wait for the court action before judgment, would you have given this people money? In this case you'll be sorry now like some Madoff people I know and who have lost all their saving in NY. If it sound like a Duck..
