just got excused as a juror from this guys trial. came home and googled him and found this thread. amazing how long ago this started. wonder what tyson was up to this whole time?? would have been interesting to hear more facts on the case. his lawyer seems pretty formidable. hope all the people he screwed get restitution.

 

Wonder if they will sequester the jury, or just ask them to avoid Googling?

 

no sequester. but explicitly instructed to avoid all news media and what not (for the 12 selected jurors). verdict to be reached mid march

After almost one full day of waiting, 31 other prospective jurors and I were subjected to the selection process in the matter of State of Washington v. Tyson Spring, former proprietor of an upscale used-car consignment shop called Auto Gallery, once located near First and Denny (P-I account, PSBJ profile). The defendant's nearly 20 charges of theft date back to 2005 and 2006. Basically, Spring is charged with selling other people's cars for them, but keeping the proceeds and, in some cases, forging their signatures on the titles.

I ALSO "THOUGHT" I BOUGHT A CAR FROM TYSON SPRING, ACTUALLY I DID PURCHASE A PORSCHE CAB. AND THAT WAS FINE, BUT A YEARS OR SO LATER I "THOUGHT" I BOUGHT A
MERCEDES CLK CAB.
I GAVE HIME 22 OR 24K AGAINST A PURCHASE OF 26K. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT HE POCKETED THE MONEY AND THE ORIGINAL SELLER STILL OWED 3O PLUS THOUSAND, MORE THAN I WAS BUYING THE CAR FOR.
ULTIMATELY I LOST THE CAR AND ALL MY MONEY AND TYSON. I COULD HAVE FOUGHT TO KEEP THE CAR BUT FIRST THE POLICE TOLD ME IF I DIDN'T RETURN IT, THEY WOULD TAKE IT ( HAD I NOT LISTENED TO THE POLICE,I PROBABLY COULD HAVE WON THE CAR IN COURT BUT THAT BRINGS UP THE SECOND PROBLE, THE ORIGINAL GUY OWED 30 PLUS THOUSAND AND HE WOULD HAVE BEEN OUT ALL OF HIS MONEY AND STILL OWED PAYMENTS AND NO CAR.
IT WAS A REALLY CRAPPY SITUATION, IN HIND SIGHT I SHOULDN'T HAVE GIVEN UP THE CAR AND TRIED TO GET HIS BANK TO FORGIVE THE DEBT OR SOME OTHER SCENARIO, EVEN SPLIT THE DEBT WITH THE ORIGINAL OWNER BUT UNDER THREATS FROM THE POLICE AND THE STATE AGENCY REGULATING THE CAR DEALERS, I THINK HIS LAST NAME WAS SMITH?? ( IT HAS BEED A COUPLE YEARS NOW,SO I WOULD HAVE TO LOOK AT MY FILE)
I GAVE IT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL GUY.
I WAS PLANNING ON TESTIFYING AND WAS ON THE LIST, BUT THE TRIAL GOT DELAYED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND FINALLY I COULD NOT RESCHEDULE A ONE MONTH TRIP TO CHINA FOR WORK FOR THE 3RD OR 4TH TIME. ESPECIALLY SINCE I DELAYED MY TRIP OVER AND OVER AND THE TRIAL NEVER SEEMED TO ACTUALLY START.
I HAVE BEEN BACK IN THE U.S. SINCE LAST THURSDAY AND MISSED MY CHANCE TO TESTIFY.
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING ONLINE TRYING TO HEAR ANY NEWS ABOUT IT AND FINALLY I FOUND THIS LINK AND THE EXCELLENT NEWS!!!
AS FAR AS TYSON AND MY MONEY, I WILL NEVER SEE EITHER OF THEM AGAIN, BUT ATLEAST TYSON WAS THOUGHTFUL ENOUGH TO LIST MY LOSS AS A PERSONAL LOAN IN HIS BANKRUPTCY IN 2007.
WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WAS A PERSONAL LOAN, I WOULD HAVE ATLEAST CHARGED HIM INTEREST. LOL

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THE SENTENCING HEARING IS, I WOULD LOVE TO BE IN COURT THAT DAY.

 

SHOOT, HE GOT OFF ON 3 COUNTS OF THEFT, I HOPE HE DIDN'T GET OFF ON MINE. MAYBE SO, AS I WAS NOT THERE TO BACK UP THE EVIDENCE IN COURT.

Great news! But it took nearly 4 years... what a shame.

 

I CONTACTED THE PROSECORS TODAY AND MY CASE WAS UNABLE TO INTRODUCE THE EVIDENCE AS NEITHER THE SELLER OF THE CAR I WAS BUYING OR MYSELF TESTIFIED.
HE IS LOOKING AT 43-56 MONTHS BUT HIS ATTORNEY WILL MOST LIKELY REQUEST A 90 DAY SENTENCE AS IT IS HIS FIRST OFFENCE.
WOW- IF HE GETS 90 DAYS, HE IS TURNING A LARGE PROFIT FOR SUCH A SHORT JAIL TERM.
