My aunt recently passed and this electric sign has been hanging in her basement for many many years. I would like to identify the car. I think its a Ferrari, but am not sure. Can anyone tell me if it is and what year it is?

    Thanks

Lamborghini is the brand brand, Miura is the model http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Miura

That sign would bring a good price with the Lambo crowd I'm sure.

They were being too brief in the answer..

It is NOT a Ferrari, it is a Lamborghini Miura.

We have a Lamborghini Section here, down the page.

The sign probably has real nostalgia $$$ value, as long as no Shaefer beer is consumed.....LOL!

Schaefer... it's the only beer to have, when you're having more than one.

Very cool sign, never seen it before. Unless you are going to keep it because of sentimental value, you should be able to get a decent price for it.

My grandpa used to drink a CASE of shaeffer every night.
I've seen probably 50,000 cans of shaeffer get empty between him and my uncles.

    Its the breakfast of champions.

Hmmmm....does that sign promote drinking and driving? The good old days.....slam down a beer, put on your gear, and hit the track.

Very cool sign. Based on the black trim around the windows and headlights it is either a 1967 or 1968 model. Based on the windshield wipers (black arms with silver wipers) I would bet it is a 68 not a 67.

    Cheers Jim

A Schaefer beer drinker drove a Miura and raced European sports cars?

The stuff dreams are made of ...

Nice sign. You should keep it.

Wiper color is a very casual observation, I would not swear by it. I only mention it because my car has silver ones and for awhile I wondered if they were original. I have now seen enough factory photos from 1968 that I am sure mine are correct for the car (the same ones as in the sign). I have also seen black wipers. These seem to be mostly on the earlier cars, but I have not been looking as closely on these. From discussions with Craig the early cars had black wipers with a very unique support for the rubber blade. Appearantly these are very rare, I believe they often broke. If I remember right the early 1000 mile time capsule car Joe found had these early style black wipers. That might be a good referance for your car.

    Cheers Jim

yeah he lived into his mid 70s. We're irish and the irish die faster without alcohol.
Shaeffer was known throughout our family as a healthy healing tonic.
