Looking great, Rob! Can't wait to see the finished product. I've taken a little break from building because of my work schedule...I get off earlier in the day but spend the time with my wife. I was usually off later and would build when she went to bed. Occasionally we'll build together when she works on her Mini.
Thanks Travis, im trying to get it finished this weekend as i will be a lot busier starting on monday and wont have as much time for building either.
Almost done with the Fujimi 1/24th Dino 246 Lemans NART. It took more work then I thought it would. Still have a few more things to do. Gaskets around the windscreen is hard to do. Still can't figure out how I used to do it in 1/43rd all the time. I still am on target to finish 4 models for the Ferrari Expo 2010(I have alot of half completed models sitting around). By the way, the Dino wheels are available from Ioan, the guy who cast them. If you want them pm me and I will give you his email. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2010 model/photo contest-Chicago April 24th 2010
Revived an old project started in 2002 lol. Revell 612 'Stradale' with reshaped nose, hood from a viper with matching side gills ala 275. Added a little kick spoiler and painted with Pontiac Lucerne Blue. Also reshaped side windows. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's very cool! I did a Revell 612 a while back as my practice to getting back into model building. I don't dare show it, it's embarrassing compared to my work today.
Nice color and body changes. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2010 model/photo contest-Chicago April 24th 2010
Looks interesting, i loved the 'Pozzi 599' you did I finished the Scuderia yesterday... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great work, Rob! The colors go great together, especially with the rims. I started a Superamerica this week, but have only gone as far as washing and a little etching on the body.
Here is my latest finished Ferrari build. MFH Ferrari 275P,i have kind of a love/hate relationship with MFH. This kit was great, relatively good parts fit, detailing is mostly great etc. but why on earth did they have to do so big mistakes on body shape? Anyway, here are some pics: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just the Revell kit. I received it as a gift for Christmas and I'm just now getting to it. So far the test fit is ok, which amazes me for a Revell kit. The windshield on my F430 was way off and has gaps in the top corners.
Everybody's models look great!!! The Hiro 275P is really messed up, but your model looks nice. I think the problem is they tried to make to many versions with one main body section. They also don't have as good an eye as lets say Paul fisher or Moro from Lemans Miniatures. Thats what happens when you do everything with a computer. The Revell Superamerica kit is better than the the Fujimi kit IMO. Revell 430 not as good as Fujimi's.
Looks very nice, Nico. I'm not familiar with MFH, but from what you guys are saying they sound hard to work with. I haven't built any Fujimi kits yet, but plan on building their P4 soon. Any experience with that kit?
Yes, I built their P4. It's a bit fiddly but simple and looks very good finished. Challenges are getting a slick finish while saving the body rivets and figuring out how you want to replicate the aluminum side window frames. To me the rivets are so much a part of the looks of those type cars.
I have this kit and i was wondering about polishing the body and the molded rivets. I bought a new kit from ebay and it was half built and to a very poor standard. As soon as i phoned the seller he gave me a refund and told me to keep it so ive now dismantled it and got it 'as new' for when i start Thankfully the body was not touched.
Allmost finished the Titan 1:12 Daytona, just a few odds and ends.. Masta decals were terrible, so its the livery is not 100% accurate.. Stripe is painted, which is a lot nicer than a decal. Its nice having a few of these big "guns" in the collection, allthough they take up quite a bit of space.. I got lucky in finding a 1:12 P4 by Ultimate (Joel Fumey) Its extremely rare, only 40 were made, and we asked Joel if its possible to make a new run, but uptill now he hasn't decided. This P4 is very accurate and detailing is great. I have several 1:12 kits on the shelf, but this is one I had to build first. The differences between a P3 and a P4 are numorous, the differences in kits from de Conto and Fumey is also very interesting...
