That's mainly because of the looks. The FHC late series cars are like a classic version of that BMW Z4 coupe (no offense to owners here). Too much headroom in the rear which destroys the looks + the headlamp treatment is awful.

I probably can accept a late series droptop but cream of the crop must still be the 3.8 S1. If you want modern day comforts without overheating + electrical gremlins, best to get a re-worked car by Vicarage or similar workshops. Handling is also an issue due to the narrow width and primitive suspension. All can be sorted out by these specialists.

We'll talk more when we meet. Will sms you mid this week.

General rule of thumb...I dont look at cars older than I am.

    :)

That leaves very little cars to choose from. :)

I share that too! Build quality was really rubbish then but got to admit, it was a beautiful era never to be repeated again.

OK boys, I'm back to studying my Classic cars & thoroughbred :D

Fong, I fondly remembered Morgan Freeman driving a black+chrome 911S? & when I was a kid, I saw a black one @ River Valley area on an E plate & I thought that when I grow up, I would like to have a classic 911 with all the chromes, Fuch & sloping back. Simple & pure.

Looks like handling is still more for you. Some 60s "supercars" have all round disc brakes & handle well but some if not all Ferraris of then & even the Miura are well known to suck & even dangerous on high speed. I just read that the Maserati 5000GT was so good that @ 170mph it feels like 90 & that's in late 1960s!

I do adore the Pagoda & "quite affordable", just saw one asking for GBP76K for a bolt+nut restoration while the decent ones are in mid 20K....prices have risen.

Speaking of cars anywhere else in the world

I was in Thailand for a short trip.

Went to see NGV trailer bulkheads and saw in the lot, an old jaguar, and numerous Vios race cars. The dealer next door had a black countach with front bumper missing.

In the city, the fellow OMP dealer had a 996 Cup and Fit CUp and a beautiful Lancia Integrale.

I went to see the black one right before I left Spore for California. I had just given up my rice boy roots and sold my STi-RA. I looked at that and a Sapphire Cosworth.

The black 911S was asking something like 70-80k. *sigh*

I would like a black Pagoda. Auto so I can go go cruising with the Mrs. I can spend lesser sundays autosoling the chrome.

The only classic car I can relate to is the Arbath Fiat 124 Sport. My very first car from 20 years ago. Cost me $20k. Was in the workshop more than on the road :)
