+1, yawn. Since the F40, supercars have been a complete and utter waste of resources. Atleast the F40 eventually proved it's performance by growing some and racing. Heck the Enzo didn't even fit any class, and the Maserati version (that they had to get special compensation to race) is even uglier. It has become the only real reason for supercars is for creating pointless threads on sites like these, or magazine fodder. How pathetic ... give me a 250LM any day. A proper RACE car. Pete
Totally agree. A TT V8 can make as much, if not more power, get better MPG's, weigh less, cost less to maintain, and be smaller in size. I want the F40 style supercar to come back, not the Veyron style to continue.
I think you will be disappointed then. It can't really be smaller or lighter. Making it smaller would make the aerodynamics to handle the proposed top speed nearly impossible and it can't be much if any light and even resemble safe. Ferrari already makes the version that is smaller and fun to drive, it's the 458.....
I'm not sure you are correct there. See the great thing about aerodynamics is it is all relative. Weight is increased in direct correlation to speed, speed=downforce=weight. With size, it is amazing the amound of downforce a rear diffuser makes, ever drive an F430 without one over 80mph? Scale is irelivant (hence 1/4 scale wind tunnel testing), the basis of your argument, to me, is fundamentaly flawed. This is my opinion and as usual I am open to learning experience, this is how I understand the basic principles of aero, please correct me if I am mistaken. Reg Mike
I'm pretty sure that with the tighter emission regulations around the world coming in and the need for better fuel economy, the days of V12 Hypercars from Ferrari are pretty much over already . Were I a betting man, My money would be on the V8 TT.
I'd choose a Ferrari Enzo over any beautiful women in the world. Actresses or models I'd choose the Enzo in a heart beat. I stay single I don't care. Just an opinion.
6. Your Enzo doesn't mind going for a run with the Corvette Club. 7. Your Enzo doesn't mind sitting quietly outside in the parking lot while you play billiards with your friends. 8. Your Enzo prefers not wearing a bra. 9. Your Enzo doesn't mind you showing her modified exhaust to anyone that cares to look. 10. No matter how old they get Enzos don't get fat. 11. To your Enzo, pushing her button once is foreplay. 12. Your Enzo doesn't turn into a water truck 5 days out of every month. 13. Your Enzo doesn't discuss your driving style with other Enzos. 14: Your Enzo doesn't care if you rent a ride in Holland.
Just sad. Soul mates make life far richer, and heck they might even share your enthusiam of mere cars ... Pete
Brilliant! Especially #13 - made me laugh out loud. #15. Your Enzo doesn't get mad when you brag to your friends about "her big black ass."
I'd say: Twin Turbo V8: Yes ~800bhp: Maybe a little less Central Driving Position: No, too much McLaren F1 about the concept, so left hand drive only. KER systen + more: quite likely.
You would think, but it doesnt really work that way. You can do scale wind tunnel testing, provided you are careful about matching Reynolds numbers, ie when you scale the size the speed also changes but not by the same scaling factor. What this tells you size matters and it matters a lot. A good example would be to look at an F16 and an F15. The F16 is smaller than the F15 so the height had to be reduced to keep it stable and while the pilot sits in an F15 he is about lay flat on him back in an F16. The same is true with cars. If you want the driver sitting up and you want to go X mph you end up needing Y length to keep it stable and to keep drag under control. Down force is another issue, but again is highly size/speed related. Mark
Not really. Its F1 derived and Ferrari had the first 3 seat central-driving position car long before the F1 came around
friendly dude, stop his car to give tourists chance to take photos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIscBtDt4N8
As much as I love V-12s, I love turbos perhaps even more. Wouldn't bother me at all to see a nice hi-revving 4.5L V-8 TT with screaming twin open wastegates!! Despite rumors of their impending demise not long ago, turbos have been popping up all over the place in recent years as a solution to the problem of big performance with less fuel consuption and engine size. And once a turbo system is in place, more power is a cinch. The important thing for me is that the new hyper car is very LIGHT. Light weight is the gift that keeps on giving.
Jim do you know anything at all about this car? If you do can you please throw us a bone? I love your car & I love the Enzo. I just can't wait for this car to debut, its going to be fantastic.
