They aren't making money and Sepang now being run by a different dept that decided to take a look at its P&L

    Have a safe trip

Yeah I sure broke something. Anyway... have already contacted Andy about putting in Porsche Motorsport 8.32/Cup Car final drive gears. This will give massive increase in usability of all gears but reduce top speed to around 290kmh. Also think I may be getting a Guards Transmission diff.... Fong need to talk to you on these upgrades....

I tend to agree with you on that mate, its really for the more experienced driver to find his way around (safely) rather than the new guys. So long as the new guy stays predictable all should be ok. Only worry is if they panic hence I prefer to be conservative and take my time. After all it aint a race....

P&L mate... everyone is boycotting.... not sure if they really care though....

+1. guess it all boils down to cost. if u limit no. of cars on the track n have proper briefing/instructions, costs per car will inevitably go up. but with sepang raising its fees as i understand, the fear is event organisers will try to squeeze in even more cars into each session booked to spread the cost increase.

nb. our usual motor insurance does not extend to track use so if u hit someone or something, u have to pick up the bill yourself and if the guy who hits u cant afford to pay for your damage or injuries.........

i think in singapore, any e type from the range will hold value since there are so few here- problem is finding one in good condition, if the base is good everything else can be restored i guess- since useage in singapore is ltd to 28 days, there shldnt be too much running issues after restoration.

Haha I think it's quite interesting to note that Derek's antenna seems to be completely straight while Lung's is quite bent. Lung must have been going pretty damn fast!

I know about the insurance bit and that makes it a bigger problem. I think, just like golf, one should take a handicap test to ensure some level of skill and and etiquette. Otherwise its dangerous. otherwise perhaps even an "L" plate, so guys hot on your ass don't cause any problems or panic. Its also better to pay more to ensure safety and a more enjoyable track day unlike what has been experience last weekend.

How about a "suggestion" from Top Gear?

A sticker to identify the novices.

As I recall, this was not a suggestion but rather a rule that all participants with less than 5 races under their belts had to have the noob stickers displayed on their cars. I think cka was talking about this, but unfortunately Sepang does not seem to have such a rule.

On a side note, I loved that episode! Their fake sponsor stickers were awesome!

Ahh I meant it as a suggestion for the organizers or the people in charge of Sepang or whichever track its held at to possibly implement. From what I hear having a novice around sounds rather dangerous.

And yes, their sponsors were brilliant! :D
