I didn't think I would ever be excited by a hybrid, but that thing looks great. Will be interesting to see if they build it, and how it turns out.

Fantastic! And 0-62 in 3.2 sec isn't too shabby.

    Someone ring up Maranello, please...

Yep, it's true, the one pictured above is the one that was made for Ferdinand (full blown MFI 908 motor, unique front bumper and quad headlights, turn signal lenses just like the very early 914 prototypes, even has an onboard fire supression system installed), the pic below is the more stock looking one that was given to Ferry (had a carb'd version of the 908 motor, fuel filler door in the hood and 916-like non-targa roof, but has a sunroof):

Beautiful car in general; and the interior looks like a GT. Any idea on price? I'd have to guess its about 100k (ie Telsa).

If it looks anything like the concept I'd triple that price.

Incredible. This makes the CGT look old, and the 911 look ancient. And it outperforms both, and it's a hybrid. Insane...

    True, but...

If the 918 Spyder makes it into production looking as much like the prototype as the Boxster did to its prototype, it will be among the best looking sports cars ever made. The basic proportions are outstanding, which IMHO makes some of the details less essential.

I see some 917 in there, also some vintage RSK.

I'm not a fan of the touchscreen interior bits, but that's the era we're in.

That car came completely out of nowhere, and it's fantastic! Proportions are perfect - am I the only one to see quite a bit of Dino in the front?

Love the hybrid part, btw. This will be one great car. The only downside is that the media is already shouting "718HP and 3 liter/100km!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", completely ignoring that you can't have full power and extremly low fuel consumption at the same time with the same driving style - and thus completly ignoring the advantage that you can choose whether you want to save fuel (although I think 3l/100km is... optimistic) or put the pedal to the medal

My only worry about this car is the weight -- with both 'lectric and gas momos, I'm thinking it could be a porker of a Porker.

Still, I will say my prayers that this car is made. It's lovely.

I see some 206/246 influence, but frankly the headlights are even better. Also it's a targa, which is very Dino-esque.

The media will trumpet performance and fuel economy at the same time, but you're right, it's likely to be an either/or. Still, at least on American roads there aren't many places that you can go 10/10ths, or even 7/10ths. The idea of a relaxed cruiser with beast potential is actually a very good one.

The targa part is what worries me. I wonder how low that windshield line really is? A lot of times though super low roof lines look awesome but never make it to production. What will it look like with the roof on? Obviously they wont all be converts. What will a soft top look like? etc. etc.

Love it so far and really hope it stays the way it is.
