Tail lights for a 348

Im not the BIGGEST fan of that look, but if you like it I say go for it mate.

cause its still got the 348 rear grill with the the traditional round lights

 

Looks crap IMO, the rear end of the 348 is very much part of the car, why change it ??

 

I actually like it, the 348 should have come out with the classic 4 round tail lights, but I also like the back grill it accents the cheese graters on the sides so to me this is the best of both worlds.

I say go for it and post pics of your install.

Who was the original owner of the car in the photo.

IMO, round taillights on a 348 are a plus, but I personally don't care for how they look behind the original 348 grill.

I agree with PAP. Either keep it original or remove the plastic grill that covers it (or go with Husker's Lemans Grill)...I don't like the round lights covered with the plastic grill like that....but if you like it that is what counts the most

I kind of like the round lights w/ the black grill. Go for it!!

 

I think it looks pretty good. My problem is I am a "purist" at heart.....I bought the carbon fiber sills a few months back and while they look great, I can't put them on my car either. Go figure............Huskers LeMans grille looks awesome too!

I think it looks good, but to keep the 348 character I'd do something like the mid-year Rx7's. Rectangular smoked lenses keeping the 348 look, but when lit display twin round lights on each side. Then you've got the best of both worlds.

 

When I developed the LeMans Grill, I experimented some with horizontal "slats" in keeping with the car's original design.

Then I said to myself "Self...the point here is to make the car look like a FERRARI ."

Seriously, the horizontal slats looked very 80s to me, and ditching them made the car look very 90s.

But if you're a purist, the LeMans look doesn't work.

 

Leave it alone. I think it is part of the aura this car has. Install round lights and you will look like a 355 wannabe.

 

Mine is more of a 288GTO or F40 wannabe!

reminds me of a phone call I got once from a guy who eventually bought a Grill.

Caller: "Hey, tell me about your 355 Grill."

Me: "I don't have a 355 Grill."

Caller: "I mean the LeMans Grill."

Me "Oh, yes, I have some of those. It's actually a 348 Grill."

Caller: "I like how you made the 348 look like a 355."

Me: "Well, our intent was just to make the 348 look like a Ferrari."

Caller: "But doesn't it use 355 lights?"

Me: "Well, yes it does, but they are actually the same lights as the 360 and 550".

Caller: "So it's really a 360 grill?"

Me: "No...it's a 348 Grill."

Caller: "So it's really trying to make the 348 look like a 360?"

Me: "No...it's not trying to make the 348 look like any other Ferrari. It's just a different taillight treatment."
