And u buy boats, fast & expensive ones! Yes, looks like a series 2 roadster & quite in order but left there for work. That shop is doing a lot of body works but I didn't speak to them. Actually, that's what I thought. Like buying antiques or in this case a sculpture & I'm not going to drive it. Just as a display parked home for few years. So, why should I be paying 20%? Actually not. As above. Bro, u can also do it & a scale so big it'll put those lengkee guys salivating
They'll class even an empty shell as a car part and all car parts fall under the 20% rule, even the spares that you carry from overseas. I am sure it would be possible to bring in the body/engine for display purpose as an individual but best to ask the freight forwarders. It involves both customs and LTA, that when you get the red tape and the $$$ issues.
I saw a white Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 yesterday parked outside some house.. first time seeing that car in Singapore..didn't know we had one..not sure if its RHD though..it had vintage plates on it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
sounds like you need a dodgy lawyer to skirt through the red tape - not that i know any of course! big hint: get the car imported (or work done) across the causeway before bringing it in... seriously though, i am fascinated by this discussion. thanks to all who have contributed; please keep it up!
Glad you're entertained What do u guys think of a Facel Vega HK500? Me thinks damn sexy & it's French! Check out the tail lamps & the built in exhaust pipe. A little jet age look too http://www.classicdriver.de/uk/find/4100_dealers2_results.asp?next=4100_dealers2_results.asp&lCarID=1794437&lCurrency=2&dealerid=11058
I've got a question about Aston Martins - How do their door handles work? Do you push one end in, and then pull the bit that pops out?
u shld double-check with LTA. i think the ARF is reduced to 100 % now. i assume the cars imported would be PARF ineligible? or do u get it back if u export after 10 years. still think a good (non-concourse) fixed head jag etype might be worth it compared to local prices.esp when u think of the savings in road tax.
Ah...so my eyes didn't fail me! Thought I saw a white mustang parked outside one of those conservation houses along cairnhill many many months back!
Exactly! I thought that the 28 days per year rule is made because the classic cars are not heavily tax. Now it is tax plus limited driving time.
So look like after all your research, it is not worth to import a classic into Singapore. Hahaa, when we meet next share your house idea with me!
Im in the middle of taking one of my Aston's over to Singapore and thought about taking my e-type over as well, aster seeing a silver one here... but then when i checked , the 28days a year crap AND having to give 10 days notice before taking it out... whats the point ? So she will have to sit all beautiful at my House in Scotland for the summer days i get back there!! Sad! Ill post some pics for you boys when i have more time. G
As promised, i had some time before heading out!! I dont have any with my wire wheels on, will take some when i get back in May when i do the Gumball... Enjoy G Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
