Here are a few of 0111ES when it was with me. Unusual features include 2 nose badges and wood trim around the instruments. "Move-around" wheels from an MG or something. I sold it "as-is"; the agony of resto was just not in the cards, but I was glad to rescue it and pass it on to someone else. Maybe someone out there knows how it turned out.

What beautiful, simple lines! The headlight trims appear not to be the correct ones in the later photos, they look very wide in comparison to the grille surround. I think I liked it better with the dark roof too.
Don't know how I feel about deleting the bumpers. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ed, A lot of these early cars were adorned with an overload of chrome to our modern standards, and especially the bumpers of the era were not very flattering. Some cars looked better with them, some didn't, but many lost them, together with most of their other decorations. It may make them more pleasing to the eye of our modern tastes, but future owners may weep for the loss.
I beg to differ. I have yet to see a Vignale that is improved by deleting bumpers or other hot rodding. Every time I see a pic of a red Vignale missing bumpers, I am greateful for the fact that it's been more than 20 years since 1980's. Best wishes, Kare
I LOVE this thread. Thanks Ed and all those people who post these wonderful photos. Keep em coming. The last two were great. Ed posts photos of an old banger and Francis posts photos a few hours later of the restored car. Great. John
No. Just somebody. Catherine Deneuve? Maybe. Annette Stroyberg? Another maybe, although there may have been many volunteers to sit in Vadim's car when BB was out of the picture. At least she isn't growing beard as Roberto Rossellini's passenger that was once quoted to be Ingrid Bergman in a Swedish magazine... (LOL). Best wishes, Kare

Attached is an image of GTO #4219 on the back of a trailer (right). This picture was taken when Bev Spencer (Hillsborough, CA) owned the car. This image was taken in 1963 or 1964. Bev painted #4219 white with race #9. He had Frank Crane drive the car here in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Laguna Seca (2nd OA). Here are three races I know of in which Crane drove 4219: 1963 Laguna Seca, 2nd OA, Frank Crane #9 (9 June) 1964 Pacific Raceway BSRC, 6th OA, Frank Crane #9 (21 July) 1964 Candlestick Park Raceway, 1st Class, Frank Crane #9 (27 July) Any additions w/ Crane driving? George Dyer (also Hillsborough, CA), bought the car from Bev in 1964 and painted it the current dark blue. Cheers, Mark Ketcham Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dear 250 GTO Series I "LMB" (#4713) Spotters, In several earlier postings on this thread, there were inquires and requests re the 250 GTO with "LMB" bodywork. This car had some terrific racing history, both on the international front, as well as domestically (USA). Does anyone have any good pics of 4713 in its racing career? I've attached three pictures (not very good quality) I have on file, two of which I kinda think were already posted. Any others? Here's the international racing history I have on the car. Any additions? 1963 Le Mans 24 Hours, 3rd Class/6th OA, David Piper/Masten Gregory #26 (15 June) 1963 Goodwood Tourist Trophy, 8th OA/4th Class (GT 3000+), Roger Penske #15 (24 August) 1963 Tour de France, DSQ (DSQ - over time, 2nd leg), Jo Schlesser/Claude Le Guezec #170 (Sept 14-22) Cheers, Mark P.S.- I sense everyone's concern about copyright. Understood. I don't own these pics. But, they're not being used for commercial purposes here. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
