Superlap will be running at Eastern Creek - 21-22 May 2010

    http://www.superlap.com.au

There are 3 classes Pro, Open and Club Sprint.

I am entering in the Club Sprint class, which is the kindest to the hip pocket and your car.

This class is for street registered vehicles running on true street tyres, running on pump fuel and the driver must be the registered owner of the vehicle. This allows the average person to get out on the track in a safe and supervised manner.

Looks good value as long as some decent track time - what are you running?

I hope to have new(ish) DD and that class would be suitable for having some fun.

Oh, looks less "street registered" simple as it sounds more read into it? Class says must comply CAMS schedule A & B and A.8 says roll cage must be fitted.. damn.

Private test day at the creek yesterday, we got in about 30 laps before running out of fuel (about 5 laps into my stint ) but the car is now running superbly and we can start the process of working the lap times down. Such a sensation to drive...

This video clip is JohnP driving. We finally have 1st gear, makes starting much easier :))) even if John is perhaps trying to be too kind to the driveshafts/CV joints!

One of my projects this week is getting a missing decal made, so I've scanned the period photos of our Lola. First shot is the team at Indy in 1983, note how young the driver, Steve Krisiloff, is. The owner, Sherman Armstrong, is standing behind him.

2nd shot is Mario Andretti at the end of his 200mph turn 1 crash in the sister car. We used another shot of this car on the recovery crane to get our undertray shape.

Steve qualified at 191mph, Mario at 199mph.

    Very cool!

(on topic I have called and clarified clubsprint class doesn't need roll cage so the reference to the CAMS section stating that (and more) apparently needs selective reading!)

Running the Evo of which doesnt need a rollcage.

Last year there were heaps of cars without cages, running in the stock class.
