Not that I know of. There's another which is the vintage plate which is for cars before 1940. They'll issue you with a daily pass on that day only! For classic, once you renew the roadtax per year, they'll give you the coupon to tear & display on the dash. Inspection is once every 2yrs. Some guys have attempted Not to tear the coupon but don't get caught A Johor friend has his classic car kept in JB & he uses it there and when he likes it since there's technically no jurisdiction for our TP over Malaysia. For a S3, abt 20K+/- pds now & an old restored one goes 50%. I'm looking @ clean, orig & well maintained roadsters & they are about 35-45Kpds. Just bought the latest issue of Classic car which pitched the S3 E type against XJS & XK. Go get it! Again? I know it wasn't possible in the 90s then OK then this. Looks like I should make a trip down to LTA to clear all this once & for all.
to be fair ,this rule theyve changed for the better...with parf ,so many new n new-ish pi cars now on the road.
seems like 20k pds for an e type v12 manual decent cond is doable. if arf +duty +gst total is abt 130%, then landed cost cld be around 100k sgd. how much is a local e type? alfa spider at abt 10k pds possible? this works out to 50k sgd (but road tax savings not so attractive since only 2litres) .maybe an old roller might be fun but servicing killer
Actually the Rollers are worth considering, maybe the Corniche or Camargue. Worth the tax savings and I think not too expensive. Parts easy to find and cars are generally reliable, not to mention the presence and class that it oozes. Local E-type 3.8L S1 owner not interested to sell. Already asked. Market price for these cars hard to determine as so few around, somewhat like the 355 spider )). Right Mike? How was drive this morning? Sorry couldn't join you guys, wife took extra pleasure to see if I could say no to a drive!
Yes, S3 and the V12 beast! She is fabulous - handles like a dream, pure joy to drive .. only 4 gears but just goes and goes and goes, very very odd ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
However Singapore's getting the proverbial shaft again as Ferrari's new supercar will once again be strictly LHD only http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=275046
not permitted. checked already ... yeah ... one of them 4 place inflatables with a 9.9hp outboard engine ...
Damn I shud dig up my posts from 6 months ago after I'd had my conversation with Felisa during the Sgp F1 week. He confirmed then Enzo replacement 2012, lhd & maybe not V12. Also said 458 spider launch at 2011 Geneva motorshow which since been confirmed.
Wow! I vaguely remember you talking about the Enzo replacement some time back after the IA opening at Red Dot. Looks like we heard it first here at the Singapore fchat thread!
