wow this is almost same as euro. what is the bankers" expert forecast on the sgd v pound . any further weakening in pound expected? (sorry i got no private banker to ask)
Haha, well,I'd be too if you catch me on a bad day..but seriously, he's a really nice person, was bloody surprised he even remembered me after we met at an even after one year..
I would start buying some at this level... at every big figure change I would buy some more... or you can buy a 1 mth STGSGD Call and it would be quite cheap. Derek how would you price it?
personally i think the uk is gonna join the piigs fiasco ... tho in retrospect they were wise not to join the eu ... cos i think there's gonna be some serious damage yet to come ... sgd-gbp ... difficult to say, tho i feel that it will still lose some ground ...
a decent car i figure is between 12-15000 pounds (@2.1sgd per pound)= 32000sgd x 2.3(100%arf +20%customs duty+ 7% gst +3%incidentals)=71000sgd + say 9000sgd for shipping n other miscell=80000sgd+ 2000coe =82000sgd.n this is without discounting for friendly invoicing if u can get it. group purchase maybe anor 10-15%off could be below 70000sgd-we're in local alfa spider territory. think also of the savings in coe (90%) and road tax (280 v abt 10000 per year) n you still hv parf (?%)after 10years (whereas local cars dont). sounds quite decent
Oh...icic....only heard all negative stuff when it comes to the Johor royal family....esp his dad, wif the golf club issue....gun pointing...etc.... Wow, you entered the garage b4?!?! U also royal?!?! Heheheh... :-D
if the parf rebate is 50% of the arf, u would get back about 35-40k sgd after 10years PLUS the export body value (which may well have increased significantly after 10 more years and esp if pound appreciates back to 2.5 or even 3 sgd,or is that a very unlikely scenario from the bankers' perspective)
problem is the numbers attached to the cars i like are usually an automatic disconnect on a/c of the absence of a money tree
I love this. Look @ the specs, too bad it's a replica but still a grand 40K quids! http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C141873/ Oh, it has Aston racing green
