Jacques Villeneuve to join BBC commentary team

If he is any good though, he can replace Leggard.

 

I remember when Jacques was giving Jenson crap when he was going to BAR/Lucky Strike... he was saying how he wasn't going to give him an inch, he was going to smack him down, etc.

Of course Jenson kicked Jacques ass that year.

Now Jenson is the reigning WDC.

And driving one of the fastest, if not the fastest car on the grid. With the #1 on it.

And Jacques is sitting in a studio commentating after being sent down the pit lane from team to team, under performing every time and destroying his reputation on the way to his eventual embarrassing failure to secure any drive - even at a crap team. The icing on the cake was his return with Renault, where he embarrassed himself again and killed what was left of his legacy.

It will be interesting to hear him criticize the current crop of drivers, knowing they are all light years better than him, and that he wishes he could be among them, but lacks the talent!

You're going to be in the minority on this one, LOL

 

Just as success on the track doesn't automatically translate to success in the booth, failure in a car doesn't mean that he'll necessarily suck as an announcer

And when he said that Massa can't even drive in a straight line, and Massa's a Ferrari driver now, while JV is a commentator now.

 

Hate is a bit harsh, he just isn't respected like most WDC winners, rightfully so IMO. He nearly frittered away his Championship, being beaten by a Ferrari that Schumacher was clearly extracting 120 percent. If he had not won his WDC he would have been ridiculed, much like Hamilton was for squandering away his in '07', and he came very close to doing so.

I'm looking forward to his comments. He is articulate, calls it as he sees it and is his own man, a perfect complement to the BBC team. For those who think otherwise, time to practice volume control exercises on the remote

 

Well I laughed so hard watching Hamilton in the gravel at the Chinese GP in 2007 that I nearly needed hospital treatment for ruptured sides and then nearly lost My voice cheering for Kimi in Brazil 2007, but unusually for this site, I'm a Ferrari fan so I guess I'm more biased than most on here!.

 

I just re-watched the clip on Youtube and it still makes Me laugh!

Maybe you should bear in mind that many of these young talents haven't achieved anything like Jacques Villeneuve who, after all, only won a few GPs, a WDC, a CART championship and Indy!!

 

And then We can both watch the Youtube clip of Hamilton stuck in the gravel in China and both laugh our socks off!. Ah!, happy days for the Ferrari fans!
