Very true. I saw in another thread where it was posted that there is not equal data transfer between the two Mercedes of MS and Rosberg...(With all of MS and Ross's history together somehow I would not be shocked).

MS will no doubt be going over the data in detail and making modifications with his engineers...Rosberg's as well as his own...MS doesn't leave any stone unturned and one of his early teammates, Johnny Herbert said that when he had a faster pace MS used his data and settings and all of the sudden he quit getting all of the wonderful data from MS's side of the garage... History has a way of repeating itself.

I look for MS to assert himself as the No1 in no uncertain terms at Mercedes.

My old account wasn't even in their system...maybe because of the changes to their site. I just signed up for a new account and 20 seconds later I was back on.

don't doubt that MS had a few more gallons on board, his times are artificial right now IMO.

Planet F1 reports that Ferrari ran heavy in P2.

Within the next few races the top teams will have mac's rear wing and ferrari's wheels.

Great to see the Ferrari's back on the track to start the new season but I was glued to the screen when they covered MS doing his thing and even more epic seeing Brawn as his team mate.

Don't hold your breath. After all the drama it took to get these new teams to the grid there's no way Bernie will exclude them from the taking green flags.

Reliability is a larger concern than speed at this early point.

Not much of a word on it other than the balance issues they had before were worked out pretty well in the second practice session at Bahrain.

McLaren's rear wing and F-Vent system but not the Ferrari wheels. Here is why: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=277010

Wow guess I hit the wrong spot there:rolleyes:.

    Hi Jack!

I hope quickly. Just watched GP2 qualifying....they where just a couple of tenths slower than bruno senna's time. GP2 cars are 300HP down on the cosworth V8, run 8K less RPM....incredible that the HRT is so slow, and falling apart while doing the equivalent of crawling speed.

Thankfully F1 is upon us after months of waiting.

Mercedes to looks to be the fastest on long runs with decent tire performance. McLaren is probably the fastest car but is burning its tires too quickly. Red Bull is quick but is dicey with its brakes and rear suspension reliability. Ferrari looks to be medium pace - glad to see Alonso is on the ball.

Stupid Bob Varsha and Steve Matchett - rationalizing for US GP when the bus has long gone. Kudos to David Hobbs for not agreeing with them.

+1 right on. Although Ferrari is said to be quick with fuel loads.

The patient driver I think will see a good result on Sunday. Those that burn off their tires early will pay a huge price. All that fuel just kills the tires and most especially the soft compound. Having to start the actual race on the used quali tires will further hurt the potential of some teams. The only two drivers who were in the field the last time F1 had the no refuel rule MS & RB...

    Yes to 107!!!

It is ludicrous to allow cars more than 8 seconds off the pace (which is what the 107% rule would mean in Bahrain) to run on the same track with much faster cars. I feel for the HRT team (which based on current practice times would be the only team not to make the cut), but they are simply not ready to run yet. Let them improve to the point where they can make the cut, and I'll be glad to watch them race.

Hopefully you don't apply your principal to LeMans - that would be totally absurd. LMP1's only in your race. For someone who goes to Petit, that's a pretty bizarre statement.

If you want them to all run the same pace, then you need to make it a grid of about 10 cars.

NO TO 107 - even the commentators are saying NO.

True...which sounds inherently dangerous doesn't it?? I would be shocked if either cars completed the race on Sunday.

they pulled off one helluva move that no one else could do - USFail1 couldn't even do it in over a year and Colin did it in TWO weeks - to that I say Bravo for believing in and ACCOMPLISHING a goal -
