Is there and physical difference in the standard 360 seat vs the Daytona seats? Is it just a different leather cover or is the seat a different shape?

Also, is there a way to recover the standard seat with the Daytona materials? I have a 99 Modena. Can the covers be purchased and a local upholstery shop fit them?

Seats are completely different. I can take a picture if you want.

I would imagine you can buy covers and have them sewn on, maybe cheaper to get a set out of a wreck.

Yes, the standard and Daytona seats in a 360 are definitely different. I believe the underlying framing is the same but the bolsters, padding, leather and stitching are all quite different. I found the Daytonas noticeably more comfortable more secure during my shopping experience (not to mention much better looking) and would not have a 360 without them. I obviously haven't tried so I don't know if standard seats can be properly rebuilt into Daytonas, but I doubt I would want to try.

...i was advised it was only the centre insert of seat that differed?

Damn, I hope it is only the inserts. I ordered my California without them!

The Daytona inserts involve a lot more stitchwork than the standard. I think that all the extra stitching makes the leather fascia stronger and helps them keep their shape better over time. I think they are more comfortable than the standard seat and to my eye more interesting to look at.

Looking at the daytonas and my standard seat, it would appear that only the inserts are different. ie: the whole center section. The headrests, side and lower bolsters appear identical to my eye. The lower portion of ths standard seat appears to be affixed only by some plastic ribbing on the front underside and then velcro underneath the cushion. Not certain about the backrest center section, but it does appear separate from the rest of the seat and therefore likely removeable.

I'd bet both the upper and lower center sections could be removed and re-stitched or replaced with the Daytona style inserts without much trouble.

I'd even entertain the idea myself if a leather company could match and reproduce the Daytona style center sections. I'm not sure I'm concerned enough about it personally to persue it, but it sounds like a neat idea.

    Another interesting note:
I tried to remove the bottom center seat and it looks like it just velcro-ed in place. This must means that the centers are swappable?

Does anyone know if the centers can be purchased? Ferrari part perhaps?

I might be willing to try if the cost is not excessive. I did find a shop in southern California who is recommended for Ferrari upholstery that states that they can recover the seats. Problem is though, @ $2400 per seat plus shipping to and from. They won't sell the leather materials outright. This is just to much for me. I am interested at a reasonable cost, but not $5000+.

I can ask my local leather shop to see how much they will charge to make the inserts if someone can post some close up pictures of the daytona seats?

I would be interested to get a pair myself.
