    Hello 355'ers...

I've got a technical challenge again. The 355 was in storage for a little while and when we pulled it out it ran very poorly. The mechanic's tested the injectors and they appear to be the problem.

So - I've been shopping for a new or reco set, and have had a set sent through from the UK - however the Bosch part numbers differ - with the seller suggesting he's pulled these from a motronic 2.7 car which was running, however the numbers he believes are from the 5.2 car (same numbers as the 456 and 550...)

Original part number for the injectors was 0280 155 013
Part number for the injectors supplied is 0280 150 449

The obvious differences seem to be:
Different style actuation: new = Disc type, original = Pintle type
Taller in height – but should fit
Larger diameter – but should fit

The smart answer seems to be to send them back ... and deal with the general hassle ... buuuut - if these will work, or indeed are actually a potential upgrade - then I'd just get them fitted!

Can anyone help with an opinion or experience on this one?

    Thanks Al

It is a no-go IMO ... except if you intend to retune your engine ECU !!

    - 150 449 are for the 5.2 and are rated at 248 cc/min @ 3 bars
    - 155 013 are for the 2.7 and are rated at 277 cc/min @ 3 bars

Your fuelling will be wrong with different injectors and no other mod.

Thank you sir. I was poking around the web for flow rates... your numbers are the opposite of what I would have guessed...

Do them figures mean the 2.7s have a greater flow rate?

It appears that way. Perhaps those more knowledgable than me can confirm of course!
