And other interesting stuff I saw just now. There was also an E-type being done up. Completely stripped naked with all the corrosion, old wiring etc not a pretty sight.

That Porsche has a Goodwood sticker from 2006 on it's rear windscreen.

They have a no of Pagodas here but condition of the dashes are rather poor & the trimmings can be expensive.

I also saw a very strange but sexy 50's coupe in the form of P1800 but something else which doesn't strike me, it has fin tails & nice lights, the switches in the cabin are like old radio ivory plastic and it has a twin-cam 16V Toyota engine in it :D

Thanks for the photos, great way to kick start the weekend with some autootive porn! What's up with the DB6? Looking very unloved. The Countach still has those "out of this world" looks up till today. That wedge shape never goes out of fashion. Actually the Lotus Esprit looks good as well, just that build quality was not quite there. Got a friend living in Thomson who has 2. Sad to see his cars parked in the sun though.

Glad u like them bro. Actually, I think wedge shape is dated in the sense very 70-80ish. Typical Giugiaro, Bertone etc. We may never get such cars anymore just like finned tails.

    This is available:

    http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=84017&DL=1000

Seen it a few times in SinMing. Our Tiffosi66 knows a good deal about these early Lotuses & most of em aren't reliable.

That poor DB6 has been left there for years. The engine block had a crack & further welding makes it worse. A new/used one can be found but owner just didn't bother about it.

Tiong, his son was the one who ordered yr DBS ;)

Is it possible for you to make an offer to take the DB6 off his hands? Problem with some of these old timers is that they lose interest but still don't want to sell. Happier to see car rot than to part with it. If you can get it at rock bottom price, should send it to a specialist in UK for a full job.

I like the rolls. So if it comes to spore, can only drive 26 days. What about the taxes, have to pay the arf or just 20% duties plus gst? You know how much they are asking?

How much will it cost to restore the aston from that condition?

Don't know how bad it is but if bare metal/interior + complete engine strip down and electricals overhaul, I'm guessing S$80k to make it pristine but not concours. If concours, the sky's the limit.

thats not too bad. still waiting for Jon's reply on the taxes. If have to pay 100% arf, wonder if possible, to import in that condition pay all taxes and get it restored thereafter. Can save on the ARF this way.

Dude, the body looks pretty straight but suspension, wiring, dash & many others will need work = recommissioning if that's what UK uses. I think it'll be a daunting & expensive project, very expensive if u send it back to UK. Not worth it. I would think it's far easier/cheaper to buy a quality car in UK then send it over. Unless of course owner is willing to part for a reasonable price. At least it is registered but my friend who collects AM told me to keep away from the Borg Warner auto gearbox, this is something we can of course convert to a manual unit.

Restoration can be done in KL for much lesser cost but shipping in parts is tricky as they have a 200% tax. So u must circumvate this.

There are some 10yr old restored DB6 that can be had for about 100K pounds which I thought is reasonable while good running ones can go as low as 50K. DB5s are more than 200K pds now.

    Yeap. Replied yr PM.

28days. 20+7% on the invoice or what the customs think it is then another 100% again, 10% of current COE, S$140, abt it.

It's as much as my 456GT which I think is quite rcheap & comes with a very nice Seremban plate. If u have a spare home here, buy it & keep for occasional use then decide when u'd like to export over to Sg. I can help you with this.

The colour is metallic forest green with dark green top, dash & carpet. Beige leather with green piping. Condition is pristine & perhaps better than many 3yrs old car! It even has brush wipers for the headlamp.

Bro, you'll be one of the only two in SG if you do it. I wanted one but when I saw how big it is, maybe when I'm older.

As above. I don't know but reckon S$80-150K depending on how good you'd want the job done. If just rebuild engine, dash etc, possibly $100K would be fine as the body, chrome & leather are good.

    Chk yr PM.

Actually, if I were u. Just employ a Malaysian driver & have it up & down or parked here. Cheaper than having it registered in SG.

A driver in KL + overtime is about 2.5K ringgit. Acts as a bodyguard too :)

Oh, I just did a calculation for you. Not worth it to register here IMHO but for all it's grandeur, maybe.

Yes, any foreigners can buy a Malaysian car including insurance etc. I did it. U can even register it under your company as an asset & claim expenses (unlike Sg).

I don't know but I guess if you're willing to pay S$20 or S$30/day whilst it's in Sg. It's worth it to ferry you guys around & clients. Imagine being chauffeured with it's top down in downtown :)

No restrictions... I use to own a Toyota Harrier and a BMW 7 series ... no issues. The only restriction is a Singaporean driving a Malaysian car into Singapore.
