Over winter, Christian Horner said it was McLaren that blocked a possible MB supply deal. Either way, 'scary' is right at how potent Red Bull would be given that engine in conjunction with the rest of the car.
You would think so but everyone is looking out for their own interest. Didn't Ferrari deny Brawn GP last year?
Ferrari offered Brawn an engine supply. BGP decided to go with MB saying it fit their chassis better. We'll never know if that was true or whether they just wanted the better engine.
Newey didn't want the Ferrari engine a few years back claiming it wasn't as efficient as the REnault. Maybe he learned something on Sunday.....
I doubt he said that a few years ago when the power difference between the two engines would easily overcome any marginal fuel weight penalties, considering they were refueling two to three times a race.
The efficiency was in terms of cooling; newey believed that the renault could make due with smaller radiators, thereby allowing greater aero efficency.
