I have been saying it since we signed Alonso, he is going to be one of the great Ferrari drivers. He has talent, skill and great motivation in abudence.

No matter what any one thinks he is and will continue to be a great team player who unlike Kimi, just love talking about and racing Ferrari's.

His passion for Ferrari is what Ferrari are all about.

Believe me, this is going to be a great season.

Yes i think Alonso is a great edition to Ferrari. I cant wait for the Lewis v Alonso grudges:)
I am at the Spa GP this year and looking forward to it.
This year though i want Lewis to get the drivers championship, and Ferrari to get the constructors. Feel a little sorry for Massa and Jenson though, the phrase pi55ing into the wind comes to mind.

I would agree with most of the above with the exception of Jeson. IMO, Jenson is an average driver who got lucky with the Brawn of last year.

I will confidently predict that Jeson will not be in the drivers top five at the end of the season.

Hypothetically, if we're a few races into the season and Massa is leading Alonso in the championship, I fear what sort of team-destructive reaction we might get from Alonso.

He can drive, there's no denying that. But I still don't like him and his temperament worries me.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I have asked this qusetion many times and no one comes up with a good counter argument so here goes.

Apart from the Mclaren situation (not all of his own doing) when has he been a problem or have people moaned about him as a team player? Answer, never.

We have got a great car, great team and two great drivers why dont we just stand as one and be proud of this.

    Forza Ferrari

I generally agree, but apart from McLaren, how often has Alonso had a team mate that really challenged him?

I have my own thoughts about this and the championship, but don't want to say too much whilst there is no spoiler in the title.

I think Alonso needs a no-hoper for a team mate otherwise things get messy.

He's great when things are going his way within the team. If a team mate should have the audacity to do better than him, then I don't think he takes it very well. He can handle losing to someone in another car, because he can write it off as the car being deficient - thanks to his team. If someone in an identical car beats him, he can't accept that someone else was a better driver - the answer has to be that the team either let him down or deliberately favoured the other driver.

I'm worried about what could/will happen if/when Massa brings him better results than Alonso. As a Ferrari fan, I fear it won't bode well for the Scuderia.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I think Alonso is going into Ferrari with different expectations than he did at McLaren, so there won't be the same problems.

I also think Alonso has the measure of Massa. Much as I admire Massa after the 2008 Brazilian GP and his accident/come back he's not in the same league as Alsono and Hamilton, IMHO.

I have always questioned Alonso's ability to be a team player when the team is bigger than just him...

He was to Flavio what Lewis was to Ron, more akin to family than employees.. I also believe (though I dont know it to be true) that Massa is in the hearts of the team and this will not sit easily with Alonso I fear.

I would like to think that the season will be about racing, however boring, but something tells me that if the viewing figures start falling because there is no on track action then suspiciously a little off track action will be added to the mix...

    Just my thought of course

    Still don't like Alonso.

I will tolerate him until he starts to whine (which he inevidently will).

RE Kimi, he has just as much passion for Ferrari as Alonso has. He was asked by a Finnish reported if he'd like a Scuderia or an older Ferrari Kimi replied he wanted an older one 'because of the passion involved building the cars back then'. Among those lines anyhow.

Kimmi has passion for driving, not specifically for Ferrari or any other company. Nice to see someone acting transparently as there isn't one driver who wouldn't be influenced by money.

He's not to big on PR events (in fact, he HATES it), so I don't expect him to like it when he has to meet some wealthy Ferrari clientele. Fact of the matter is that a huge percentage of people buy Ferrari's to pose in (not implying that you do). He's much happier doing snow mobile or powerboat races instead...

And the fact that he's Finnish, they rarely show much emotion. Very few people understand that. I personally like the fact that he speaks his mind and does how he likes to do things, instead of putting up a fake smile and pretend to be interested.

I may be a bit biased as I'm a huge fan of his, have been since he first entered F1. He was clearly racing in the wrong era, he should have been in the 70s...
