A quick question on the install of the HAL-BC02 Shock Bumper kits for those of you that used these when doing your QA1 installation. I did a few searches on F-chat but didn't find anything specific to the usage of these kits.

These are the bushings that prevent the shocks from hard bottoming out. The bushings get mounted onto the shock shaft. The bushings are conical shaped. In what direction do they get mounted? Also, the bushings come with a steel washer - is it used? And if so, where does it get installed (above or below the bushing)?

    I included a couple photos.

    Thanks for any advice,
    Phil

I'd have all sorts of things hitting first (wheels in wheel wells, belly on the street, springs binding) before my shocks would top out.

IMHO, you really don't need these!!

If you've got a GT4, you WILL need 1" extensions on the rear shocks though. Not needed on the GTB/GTS.

I don't think it matters. Haven't bottomed mine out in about 2500miles pretty hard driving(300# QA1 springs)

On my car the rear drive shafts hit the frame without bump stops ... watch out for this. I've posted pics before I think.

I also used taller bump stops than what you have. I used an energy suspension product I think.

    cheers

I used the bump stops from QA-1. There aren't any descriptions anywhere I found on how to install them. I only put them on the rear shocks, as most people I queried said there was no way that the fronts would bottom out. On the rears, I installed with the "hollowed out" portion, up (basically so it would encase the stop nut at the top of the shaft, if that makes sense). The washers don't fit and I didn't use any.

Blue - thanks, that was my thought as well (as far as direction). I'll proceed in that manner. I bought four, so I'll put them on the fronts as well, better in place on the car then on the shelf collecting dust or getting lost.

    Thanks again,
    Phil

Verell, I'll add this question/info, as well as what we've been discussing off-line, onto the thread you reference.

    Thanks,
