Just a curious question are there Ferrari owners that trade a 360/430 to include monies for a 308/328 etc. . Wondered if the newer car owners trade for something "old school". I own a 308 and instead of selling I would rather trade and provide additional monies to still stay within a Ferrari yet experience something different. Thoughts.

I know a guy here (moderate Dave, dm n stuff) who traded/sold his 246 (I think) for a 360 and says he’s much happier…..it seems just plain WRONG to me though ;)

Seems unlikely....but I have learned never to say never. Should probably post the question on the 360/430 forum...

Why anyone would want to trade DOWN from a 308 ............ is beyond me.

    ;)

Would never, ever happen, for me.

I think the 360/430 are nice cars, I like seeing them on the street, hearing their great sound, etc. But I have zero desire to own one.

Also, I can't see a 360/430 owner wanting to trade for a 308. A 360/430 owner just doesn't seem like they'd be interested in something like a 308. They are just such different cars.

I have both, an 84QV-B and a 99 360 F1. Other than the little horsie they are two completely different cars. The 360 is smooth, quiet (relative to the 308), comfortable, ac works well and it is much easier to drive fast. The 308 is much more basic, it rewards good driving and requires skills the F1 doesn't and involves the driver more.

If I could only keep one the 308 would be the keeper.

I really love the 308, and always wanted one since I was a kid. I would happily buy other Ferraris, but would want to keep my 308.

I'd quite like a 246, a Testarossa and the new California. There are other ferraris that I would love, but don't see myself buying because of the price. (Generally older ones)

I would not necessarily consider moving from a 308 to an F430, an upgrade, just a different car.

Isn't that the WHOLE POINT of owning a sports car?

You should probably get both. The 360/430 as a DD and the 308 for the "special" days!

    What he said.

Pretty soon they'll cost the same, so you could try a 360 and then get back into a 308.

I have a 328GTB and a 430 3 pedal coupe. I love 'em both, but the 328 is the keeper even though I drive the 430 about 2X. I guess the reason is that there are other modern, cheaper performance cars that I could enjoy almost as much as the 430 but there is no modern equivalent of a 308/328.

I have a 430 and have started looking for either a 328 or a late 308 QV. Although I love the 430 the 308 is my dream car from when I was a kid.

While they are both Ferraris I think that either car is going to attract a different demographic which is why there arent more responses. The price point, while getting closer, and the performance differential on the two cars just puts them at odds with each other in that way.

    Just my .02

Nice. It's got to be interesting going from one to the other.
After driving my '85 GTS or even moreso my '86 Honda CRX Si, my fiancee's '99 528i sport feels like a spaceship. The older cars are just so much more tactile and involving, but have to admit for long trips the cocoon-like BMW is appreciated.
Something like a P51 Mustang vs. a Learjet. Yeah the Learjet is faster and comfier, but...
