Thanks for posting, that was an awesome video.

This video has put the 458 very high on my list of Best Sounding Cars.

You gotta love the respect Europeans have for the left lane.

Haha. This comment reminds me of some EVO articles; stories and antics :)

you are reading too many car magazine... the only tolerance is for official Maranello test drivers, and only on specific roads....

Italy has become very strict on speed enforcement over the past 4 years (in particular with introduction of Tutor radar system on most highways which calculate your AVERAGE speed on a section).
It is pretty stupid to cross villages at high speed, and even more stupid to post a video of it with a plate which is easy to read. The kid who posted the video wrote in comments he is not worried because it is a Ferrari owned car, it doesn't belong to a private guy...

If it is stupid or not I won't discuss, but fact is: they will even let you rent one of those to ride fast in the same "village" streets/roads of Maranello for a value as low as $100. There are no test drivers and no Ferrari owned car. And they will also have Cali and 458 by summer time.

There should be a dickhëad filter on YouTube! This is the kind of guy that makes people think only asshöles buy Ferraris. Now, I've done more than 180mph numerous times on the public road (and I bet I'm not the only one here who has) but it's always been on clear stretches of motorway where the only one who might get hurt is me. But that kind of driving through town? Sooner or later your luck is going to run out and someone just minding their own business is going to pay the price. And for why? It's not like Italy is wanting for excellent out of town roads free of traffic and people where you can give it the full beans. The place is completely riddle with 'em, it's a driver's paradise.

Got to love those tunnels, though. There's a place we visit quite often in northern Italy and about ten minutes from our hotel is a 12 mile tunnel which, every now and again, breaks out into sunlight for a few hundred yards as the road crosses a ravine. I could drive back and forth through there all day if it wasn't for my girlfriend finally saying "Er... can we actually go somewhere now, please?" :)

I do not read car magazines at all, but I have driven my Scuderia in Italy quite often...and before that F430....and before that 360.....

I guess you are an experienced reader of EVO articles, not that experienced Ferrari driver on Italian roads... My qualified guess:)

    Love it!

I can't fault the driver at all; it's exactly what I'd do and he's doing it within reason... That car sounds and just seems over all amazing... Can't wait to hear some first-hand reviews!

    Thanks for posting!

So... you are based in Norway, and you know better than people working in Italy what is the attitude of Italian police towards Ferrari drivers?
For your info, I have over the past two years 3 Milan based colleagues or friends who got caught speeding with a Ferrari and ended up with 1 to 3 months without driving license. Italy is still much more driver friendly than countries like Switzerland, but controls have become MUCH stricter over the past 4 years.

YOU may be able to speed in Italy if your car has a Norway license plate, and if you get flashed without police stopping you - as the Italian administration is still too inefficient to transfer fine to several countries. For people with French or Swiss plate, you receive your fine at home....
