4 to 5 years ago I bought a die-cast 355 model which was painted proper body color and even included a detailed license tag. I thought the company name was Cavallino Models, but I can't find this name anywhere so I probably have it wrong. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Somewhat off topic, but what the heck.....4-1/2 years have gone by....:)

Can someone give me an opinion on the best (most detailed, most accurate) 550 Maranello model, either built or kit? Scale is not particularly important to me.

    Thanks.

    Jack.

There is not much choice really. You can have it in 1:24 plastic kit, which I believe is sealed or you can get it in 1:18 metal from Bburago, Maisto, UT models or Mattel. All four of these are very similar in quality and detail, the UT probably being the better one of the bunch.
If you really want a proper well detailed model you can have a custom one build. Any of the above would be a decent starting point.

Thanks. You're right, none of those is really the quality or detail that I'm looking for. Can you (or anyone else) point me to some builders who can improve on the models you mentioned?

    Thanks again.
