I don't know how well a fit Kimi would be for Red Bull. Red Bull is clearly a very PR-heavy team and Kimi (so I'm told) absolutely hates doing PR. Would he deliver the goods on track if he's feeling dissatisfied having to do the PR work too?

I do agree, Webber seems unduly reckless lately.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

No matter how much I would like this to happen, it ain't gonna happen yet is it? It's only been two races for Kimi and Weber but I do agree that should Weber keep driving like this something should be done. Although I heard the rumour that Kimi would drive for Red Bull next year.

The question is not whether RB can afford Kimi, it's whether Kimi has accepted his true market value or not.

He's no longer a top tier driver. He shouldn't expect to be paid like one. He's like a Jenson Button... won a WDC with a lot of luck, did OK several times, and got outperformed by a much less talented teammate a few times too.

If Kimi's opinion of his own talent is realistic, then he can certainly get a salary commensurate with his ability.

+1 As usual right on the money. Totally agree with Webber being a menace on track, the guy seriously has more incidents while getting passed than I believe any of the current drivers.

Back in the day Jack Brabham was known for having a particularly "wide" car. Maybe its a geographical thing

Not for long anymore: Heidfeld is taking that position.

Hahaha. Tell us how you really feel about cheer leader Massa! :)

    You are correct however.

Heidfeld is a good choice... he's never in the news for anything, at least :)

I am just happy that the natural order of things has been restored, and Massa is back to the clear and indisputable #2 at Ferrari. I know the Massa lovers will get pissed about this, but I thought he looked thoroughly out of his league on Sunday - he was all over the track and almost lost it several times. He was a gnats wing away from wrecking in the rain (again). It's clear to me that Alonso has gotten into his head and freaking him out.

I just can't wait for the fireworks that will occur the first time those two come together - in the press, in the team, and on this site :D

    Agreed with all.

Alonso was under team orders not to attack.

It was a sheer miracle, that Massa didn't crash. Apparently fate owed him something after Hungaroring.

I would like to see Kimi back in F1. His WRC outings have been a joke so far and having another WDC on the grid would be great...anything to get Mark Webber to hang up the helmet for good.

Somebody on SpeedTV said that this was Phil's best finish in Australia. I believe that they said 6th was his previous best. 3rd sounds like improvement to me. ;)

It does not stop to amaze me and irk me, how no matter what the topic, certain people find a way to bash Massa. I mean you don't have to like the guy, but do you really have to poison every single thread on here?
After all, this is a chat dedicated to Ferrari and one of the Scuderia's pilots, who deserved a WDC more than anyone in 2008 and returned after a horrific incident, definitely deserves more respect than you are showing.

He deserved the WDC in 2008 more than anyone.... except Hamilton. Even with the FIA offering maximum assistance in his quest, he fell short.

This is an F1 forum, not a Ferrari-kool-aid-only section. I haven't seen any unwarranted bashing of Massa, it's all been pretty fair.

"Kimi to replace Weber" = lets bash Massa. Really? Fair you say?
Look I am not saying that Massa is the gratest. Do a Massa sucks thread (which I think already exists) and trow stones at him all day. No problem.
But do you have to spew your poison in every single thread?!
And yes, Massa deserved the 2008 WDC more than Hamilton. Because he did everything possible to win it from the bottom of his heart and the beloved scuderia lost it all for him. Meanwile Hambone just acted like entitled to the WDC prick.
It is my opinion and it is just as valid as yours or anybody elses on here, as wether it is mine, yours or Joe Shmoe's that is all it is. Just an opinion coming from someone behind a keyboard. For all I know you could be Michael Schumaher or grossly overweight 60 year old lady.

You call it poisoning threads, I call it a natural progression of the discussion. I said Kimi would make a good #2 to Vettel, and Andreas mentioned Massa, and I said I was glad that the natural order was back @ Ferrari. It's not like the conversation didn't lead that way... if your ideal is that nothing bad will ever be said about Massa outside of any threat specifically labeled as a Massa thread, then that is unrealistic.

I think the folks who get mad are the ones that would rather this be a simple fanboy site where even if Alonso blatantly crashed out Vettel just before the finish line, the site would be full of hatred towards Vettel for being so arrogant as to be in front of a Ferrari. To me, that's not interesting. And the forum isn't a Ferrari cheerleader site, it's an F1 discussion site. Some folks get offended when Massa isn't considered the best or second best driver on the grid. Well, sorry, I don't think he is. At all. He's a great #2. Never has been a #1, never will be. And he didn't deserve the WDC.. it wasn't the team that cost him it, it was everything - it was his spins and crashes that cost him just as much. And as I said, he would never have even been within 10 points of the WDC if it weren't for the FIA making calls to help the guy out. This idea that he is the "true" winner of 08 is ridiculous, unless you want to call Hammy the "true" winner in 07... but I wouldn't, Kimi earned that trophy just as much as Hammy did the next year.

Massa knows he ain't a #1 driver either, which is why he was so flustered by Alonso being in his mirrors.

the self-righteous sanctimony coming from the sycophants in this section is boorish and unbelievable outdone only by their charm and wit

Facts? - No team orders preventing Alonso from passing Felipe. Felipe was faster and Alonso fastest lap was slower than Felipe's. He also had car control issues and was lifting. Even on the bbc inside Alonso's car you could hear it and Martin Brundle pointed it out as they rode with FA. Could he have gotten around Felipe? Maybe but he was saddled with his own issues and knew this and stated he was OK with 4th considering. He was under attack anyway from LH and MW most of the last 20 or so laps and didnt actually want to know the gap per his radio comms. Tells me....NO TEAM ORDERS :) Some posted this here like it was FACTS. SO anyone with the PROOF there were TEAM orders in this situation post away. Most likely YOU WONT because you merely posted an opinion. :) See the link below for the posted best lap by each driver. This is about the most factual thing there is for the race, the times, speeds and results.

Flustered at the start? LOL!!! He blew past Alonso and had the perfect line down the middle to split Alonso and everyone else. Yes he LIVES in fear LOL :) Please keep posting away. I need the laughs on Tuesday!!!

He takes a crappy set up car that was some seconds slower than the leader and puts it on the podium. Thats called racing!!! Surely if that would have been TEFLONSO :) we would be singing a chorus of praise. Lets give credit where credit is due. No matter if you like the guy or not.

I called LH a bonehead in my opinion for losing his patience and not making a clean pass on Alonso. He is better than that and frankly is the BEST driver on the grid in terms of pure speed and aggression. Does not mean he is immune from mistakes. The guy is amazing. I stand by my opinion.

I posted it as an opinion. Not just my opinion but one shared by journalists and printed as such. Although I didn't list a source.

Anyway, I can however tell you now that you were right, there was no team order. At least that's what a birdy on my window sill said.

Let me see if I understand this. In his second race back from a horrendous crash Massa makes a brilliant start and finishes on the podium (his best Australian result ever) but catches grief. For what exactly?
