Now that I'm 90% sure I'll be a Ferrari owner (CS or '06ish 430) within the next 18 months, I bought 1:18 scale models of a CS and 430, bought a ferrari T-shirt, a Scuderia poster, and now a carbon fiber Ferrari hard case for my iphone. I sometimes feel like I'm 15 yrs old buying ferrari folders to take to school. Has anyone else done things like this prior to Ferrari ownership or am I just being childish? Oh yeah, I'm going to be 39 in July (though I still think i'm 25...haha).

Pride of ownership is never childish...unless you're using it to put others down, which you're certainly not.

Enjoy the car and everything fun that comes with it.

I had a poster of a 308, a Countache, and a Lotus Esprit on my bedroom wall in
1978 - got my 438 GTS in 2007, still working on the others :D

I'd say normal behavior for a car enthusiast :D :D

Don't ever plan on being a walking billboard. lol A few years ago when I had my 712rwhp Z06, I gave rides to whomever wanted one and even let a couple of friends drive it. I enjoyed letting others experience what they themselfs do not have. The Ferrari.....I'll probably stick with giving rides. lol

    Dear Ferraristi,

Live life to the fullest you can...everyday. For tomorrow...is unknown.

There's nothing wrong with having some fun and the build-up to the actual car.

It's one thing to buy a Ferrari/Lamborghini key chain waiting for the day to put the F/L key on it...

....it's another to buy the key chain to toss on the bar so everyone thinks you drive the car.

I say add some Ferrari mugs and some F polo shirts but don't wear the F polo shirts till you have the car.

....everyone will ask "so do you own a Ferrari? " ...and you don't want to look foolish. :D

Did that the other day, asked a person wearing a Ferrari jacket if he had a Ferrari. He said no. He didn't ask if I had one, since I was wearing a Ferrari jacket.

I always find this odd, but I am a touch biased. So, to experiment...I asked the guy in front of me at Starbucks this morning why he was so short. He didn't seem amused so I pointed out that he was wearing a Lakers jersey so he must be a basketball player.
....or was he just foolish? (he didn't look much like Kobe either)

    Normal, IMO.

I've got Ferrari junk laying around all over the place, and I was 53 when I bought #1.

    Have fun.

I have a Chrysler hat. Amazingly, no one has ever asked me if I own a Chrysler. :)

In many ways the Ferrari is for the child in you too. Revel in your extended childhood and feel sorry for those who have outgrown it!

Don't spend any more money on anything until you get your car.

Even if that means you can only get it 15 minutes quicker it's worth it.

    Dear Ferraristi,

No one asks about a chrysler or a sports jersey because it's normal mundane things that's all around us.....a Ferrari is not. It's unusual and sticks out.

The reason I mentioned the Ferrari Polo shirts is that I get asked that exact question all the time. In FL, it's quite hot so I wear different color Ferrari and Lamborghini Polo shirts as daily attire.

....not a day goes by..." so, do you really drive a Ferrari/ Lamborghini? " or "do you work at a Ferrari/ Lamborghini dealership? "

My favorite is..."I see your Ferrari shirt but I didn't see a Ferrari in the parking lot....do you really own one? " My answer....."that's because I drove my Lamborghini today" :D

    What ever shirt I'm wearing....I drive the opposite car....but hey...that's me! :D

Try to stay away from wearing too much Ferrari stuff at the same time. Over the top looks silly. In good taste is ok but a complete outfit is just plain silly and everyone around will think you are goofy. I wear Ferrari T shirts and jackets too. Just not a Ferrari hat, shirt, pants, shoes, jacket, watch, socks, and then carry a Ferrari phone and camera. Stay in good taste. A little is ok. Unless you want people to think, look at me, look at me. Personally I don't like that much attention.

    Dear Ferraristi,

Boy...that sure is a lot of Ferrari stuff to wear at one time.

All I have to wear is my black silk shirt and gold chain....and everyone knows I drive a Lamborghini. :D

Good advice, but is this too much at once:

    Ferrari Hat

I think it depends on where you are. When a bunch of Ferrari guys get together if seems ok to wear a bunch of Ferrari stuff. Just driving or going to a store, bar, or wherever by yourself just seems a little too much to me. I have a very nice Ferrari leather jacket I wear. Also a couple of lighter Ferrari jackets for spring and summer. That doesn't seem out of place or too much. I don't wear hats but I don't think that's too much with a jacket either. I have seen guys with all the stuff you could think of at once. Not at any race or Ferrari event either. That seems like over the top to me. All things in moderation is a good rule. That's just me. To each his own. It isn't any different than a Mopar fan wearing too much flair or a football fan. Just depends where you are. Car event or sports event. Wearing it all is ok. Wear too much flair shopping, and it looks a little too much. IMO
