I have a question/concern... I have an 81 US version 308 GTSi 2V car, if I put my hand up to the exhaust tips while the car is running, I feel a nice pulsing pressure from the right exhaust, but very little pressure from the left. Shouldn't they feel the same? Also when cold starting, the left side emits a lot of steam until the engine has warmed up. What's going on here? Is it a bad cat? The car runs good.

If you have the stock muffler = no (the stock muffler is not symmetric inside and shares a common chamber).

If you have an aftermarket muffler with completely separate, and identical, chambers for each bank = yes.

My muffler is stock, so it shouldn't concern me the pressure isn't equal?

My 1980 gtsi is just like that. Just recently had a major done and everything is running great. I wondered that too, but it seems it's normal.

    Just to be redundant:

The uneven pressure on the stock muffler is perfectly normal. :)

For those with Ansa sport mufflers I have seen a cut away of an old muffler and the right side pipe is the 5-8 and the left side is 1-4. You can see in the picture that the 2 sides are separate. I don't know how this is configured in the stock exhaust. FYI
