    Hello all,

While I do not own one of these fabulous machines, I am currently completing my Capstone (senior) project at Regis University in Denver, CO with hopes to attain one someday. Part of my reason to actually sign up, instead of the lurking I have done, is to do some market study. I am concerned that it will be considered soliciting. Does anyone know how I coudl submit my survey for review? I don't want to be kicked off as I am just getting started. My project involves market research based upon local/regional interest in a motorsports resort (think Ascari Race Resort www.ascari.net or Motor Sport Country Club http://motorsportcc.com/ in the Denver Metro area.* I do realize that there is a consortium in place building just such a facility, but did not discover this until school had already approved this project. Also, part of the project is to gather/analyze the data myself so while their data could help me as a secondary resource, if they are willing to share, I still need to do my own research. My survey is web-based and contains 11 questions,*designed to gather anonymous data about potential clients and their interest level in a motorsports resort near the Denver, Colorado metro area. All information gathered is purely for research purposes and is completely anonymous. No information will be shared or distributed to any vendors or solicitors. If anyone wants to take it before I know if I can post it, PM me and I'll send a link.

Now, a little about me: I have been into cars of all stripes for as long as I can remember. From building a 1930 Ford streetrod with my dad, to attending various meets, races, and general social gatherings for most of my life. I can honestly say that I appreciate cars from all eras, regions, and purposes. My wife is almost correct when she states that I want my garage to be larger than my house. I would fill it with so many automotive gems, both modern and classics. I look forward to discussing the prancing horse with everyone.

Welcome to Ferrarichat, hope you stay after you gather your data. I don't think it's allowed but welcome anyways.

Hi Matt... your best bet at approaching your survey would be to subscribe, preferably
at the Rossa level. Non-subscribed members cannot solicit much of anything here, nor
post commercial links. It's also very much frowned upon to post links to competing sites,
as F-Chat is not just a forum, it's a business. I would also suggest becoming a "part
of our community" FIRST. Spend time here reading, posting, meeting other F-Chatters,
and the like. But without a subscription, your data acquisition is not likely to get much
interest or response. And very possibly result in the thread being deleted, you being banned,
or both - just speaking from experience with threads that go that direction.

Welcome to F-Chat - and as Agup48 says, I hope you stick around after (if?) you get
    the data you seek.

Well exhibiting concern with following the rules makes a good impression as a start. The general rule is non-commercial, non-self-promotion, no classified ads type of content by non-subscribed users. Subscribed users have certain privileges beyond that. At the same time, we want to encourage discussion of car topics and community/region based activities. A lot of times, a decision is made by a "smell test". For example, we don't mind youtube videos of car events or off-topic humor, but if someone posts multiple times linking an oddball video sourcing site we've never heard of, we see that there's lots of ads/sponsorship on that site, and that user posts only links to that site and has 5 posts; then that smells.

So, having gone through all that, if your survey is non-commercial, for a student project and done in good taste; it would probably be OK. However, the users tend to be more responsive to a requester that "clicks" with them. Someone who they've talked to in the past or demonstrated interest in the community beyond their immediate need.

Lost, Your links need editing. The links as posted include typos that must be edited out to get them to work. -sc
