Campbell Run, take 4!! Trip to GA, NC, TN to DRIVE!!

I'll be arriving at the cabin on the 22nd, and leaving on the 26th. Really looking forward to it!

This past Saturday I took a small group on a mountain drive that was about 180 miles. The roads are clear (no gravel/sand left over from winter) and the traffic was minimal. You guys picked a great time to get up here.

 

The cabin rental is done. Ready to rock and roll!!!

We are planning on coming up I-75 to GA-5 / I-575 then GA-515. Any chance of meeting someplace simple to access with trailers along that route? If not, no biggie. We can just meet at the dealership like previous trips. Of course, I would prefer to meet you for a full day of driving.

Me: "So it looks like there will be three of us going driving in the mountains."
Lisa: "What are you talking about?"
Me: "Remember on Saturday when I told you I was going driving."
Lisa: "You said you might go sometime. You better check the calendar, there is lots of stuff going on this month."
Me: "I already checked and my drive is on the calendar."
Lisa: "Uh, you are acting like it has been there for 8 months, but I know you just wrote it in about 5 minutes ago."
Me: "Yeah, that's true. I'm excited about the drive!"

Thanks Fred, id love to go but finances are not in place right now. Definitely will make it up with you guys one of these trips. Id be there if I could but priorities call. Hope you guys top your last trip! May you have empty roads and great weather

 

I'm going to be at VIR that weekend, you guys going to venture close to there?

 

We are planning on some SW Tennessee, north Georgia, and SW North Carolina (farthest north is probably Hot Springs, NC). I don't know where VIR is.

Unless the weather prevents it, I plan on having NC 215 as part of our route on one of the days (It is one of my three favorite roads). It would be cool to meet you for lunch. I think Fred has your number. Hope to see you in about three weeks. I'm moving my office today, I should be reconnected to the web by tomorrow morning.

I just got back from a week in the mountains. We had a GREAT time--except for the deer we hit. We hired a guide and went fly fishing and on the way home we nailed a 150# female at 45mph. My Dad's car was pretty beat up. Moral of the story--be careful when you're driving!

 

wow!! what kind of car were you driving? hope everyone was ok. That is why I always avoid driving at night. I had to drive to ga to visit my gmom in hospital really late at night and I was dodging deer for 8 hours...was very bad!! I was in the nsx also, so the deer would have won that battle!

 

Venison stew for Easter??? Glad you didn't get hurt.
