Sorry to step in, but I just wanted to say it's nice to see you on the forum! (I photographed his LP640 back in November: http://www.notbland.com/images/lamborghini/murcielago_lp640.htm ) I remember him saying his brother had a pretty cool DB9, now that I think about it.

Yellow Lotus Esprit on I-12 in Baton Rouge this morning

 

Beautiful black Jaguar E-Type in Baton Rouge yesterday afternoon. Don't know where precisely; was letting my sat-nav guide me blindly. And I'm not even sure if it's a car worth reporting on. But it was just *stunning*

 

Followed a nice SL600 AMG off of I-12 in Covington this evening. After exiting the intestate, the driver got on it, before having to slow for traffic. Beautiful car and smooth sounding exhaust.

 

Black on Black R8 in Houma LA today.

 

Black Bentley Arnage earlier this wk on I-10 East in NO East.

 

Red over tan 430 spider at the Italian Pie restaurant in Laplace. Had Montana tags.

 

Such a car doesn't exist, but it wouldnt surprise me if a sl600 owner added the AMG badging. Even worse if a sl500 owner added both sets of badges.
The AMG sl65 version of the v12 is a twin turbo beast with over 600hp.. pretty awesome car.

 

Going to defer to your knowledge. Either way it was a nice car, and the driver was enjoying it.

 

Interesting spots recently. Today at the Windsor Court was a new silver Maser Coupe and a blue 599.

But even more surprising to me was the other night at the airport when I spotted some Porsche headlights from a distance only to find that it was in fact the new 4-door Panamerica S!

I didn't care much for the car in pictures but was surprised how much better looking it is in person. Actually quite cool

Sorry, but it doesn't exist.

The SL600, along with every model mercedes made, can be packaged with AMG wheels and styling kit (AMG sport package), but it does not have the AMG hand built power-plant and is not born with the emblem.

The AMG built cars have always had different numbering system and are usually noted by two, rather than 3 numbers behind the model number.

Not that it matters to the post above. The SL lineup in it's entirety is a pretty awesome car.

You can send it to renntech, kleeman, brabus, ect... but AMG is now a division of Daimler Chrysler that builds new. Even when you could send it to them for tuning, it would not make it an AMG car.

The sl65 is built off a different assembly location by hand is much different from the SL600.... Siting the engine - larger turbos, larger IC, oil injectors, forged pistons, forged cranks, bigger fuel pump, larger fuel injectors, different ECU, and much more displacement. It also has a stronger transmission, stronger half shafts, a LSD, larger brakes, speedshift, better flowing, sounding and looking exhaust, larger wheels / better tires, the completely different interior and extensive body mods.

A lot more than a a tuned sl600..
