Its RM's site also with the following: Chassis number 52725 Estimate - 350,000-420,000 ($470,000 - $560,000) "This very fine example was originally equipped with optional power window lifts and was delivered to Italy. It was supplied to its first owner, Mr. Emilio Mascherpa from Coccaglio, Brescia, and first registered on 25th February 1985. The current owner acquired the GTO on 20th October 2001 and since then has maintained it at Rossocorsa, the official Ferrari dealer for the Milan area. US Legal (Subject to 2.5% Customs duty and shipping to US as MY is 25 years old) VAT(Monaco?) due on Buyers Auction fee for US resident in addition to Buyer's fee . Keeping that in mind it will be interesting to see what it sells for assuming it doesn't NS.
Correct, and I think you will have to pay Eu VAT if a USA resident, but perhaps an EU specialist can clarify. Good that it has been driven, but, even from pics you can see (from the engine bay shot for example, and from the interior image) that this is no USA-typical show queen. Estimate seems reasonable bearing in mind that these have softened since a year ago.
Unless it was removed intentionally, I think this badge has been well-scrubbed over the years because all the satin-black filling in the center of the lettering is gone!
Maybe its different for cars but I've always had my VAT refunded when taking purchases out of the country.

You're welcome It's the first 288 I've seen in the metal, they're very subtle. Keeping an eye on it's younger brothers and a Megaphone close up: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Roaming Panda is that you? Thanks for taking them and hosting them on Flickr! Its such a quality venue for great photography, and we do the same so our images can be shared. http://www.flickr.com/photos/joesackeyclassics/tags/joesackeyclassics/page8/
Yep, that's me. Glad you liked them, it's just a shame about the traditional British weather. Edit: Thanks should also go to the owners for bringing them out for a good cause: http://www.chestnutschallenge.org.uk
