I agree. However, I haven't seen a picture of this car head-on so I'll reserve judgement for the moment.

As an aside, does anyone know if the sill under the door is available in carbon fibre? I have only seen it in black, red and silver.

I little more towards the front :) The dark wheels, mirrors & definitely lower stance look great, not convinced on the black lower lip.

The car looks to be lowered...there is no space in the wheel wells of the car. Looks great lowered until I use my drive way. :(

There is a factory option for a lift kit, should help there :)

I also am not sure Rosso Corsa is the best color for this car.

Strangely, I do. But I think there are actually some better colors.

I chose my car exactly like this one.... and I agree with you the 458 is beautiful in a lot of different colors (white for example, whereas on the 430 I was never convinced). But it was my first Ferrari, I had to start with red :)

I've had 4 Ferrari's and all 4 have been red. So, maybe I'm getting a little bored!

Congrats on the 458. I go to Taipei several times a year. The taxi drivers all drive like they are Alonso. The motos all drive like they are packs of wolves. How you can drive a 458 there is beyond me but I'm sure you'll find a way to enjoy it!

I ordered the car in Switzerland.... I am working between two homes, one in Switzerland, one in Taipei. In Taipei.... I let Alonso driving me!

not enough people lower the car and place spacers on.

the only way to go IMHO.

Why does everyone think they know better than Pininfarina?

Keep in mind that the finished product, such as a 458, is neither Pininfarina's favorite nor complete design. It's a design that has been "detuned" to please as wide of a market as possible. So Pininfarina would be making little tweaks to improve the look, just like a lot of us are doing.

Yes, but you can bet that none of those tweaks would fall into the 'pimp my ride' category.

lowering and widening the track a bit does not fall into any 'pimp' category. you can bet pinin originally designed the car to sit lower and wider than it is now for most world markets.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. I see the appeal but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

you are right, there are extremes. as for original designs...look at all the pre-release studio pics, look at all the prototype sketches..that goes for any modern ferrari...they are the 'ideal' design stance--if there were no gov regs. then look at production models. as a comparison, some euro market cars sit over half an inch lower than US cars. they just look BETTER. and lowering US cars to Euro specs, or even a bit lower, is certainly not 'pimping', so long as you can live with the ride height given your roads...

I really like it, but I'm still not sure about the black lower lip.
