One of my fellow in France is making them, he is a full retrims leather specialist on French Riviera at Cannes... he works for Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin & Bentley. His name is Patrick Haleblian. BTW he is a Lambo guy as he owns a Diablo roadster '99.
My seats have been redone but no perforations on fronts of all or backs of 2 front seats. If either of you fine gents can give me some contact numbers i will get sarted now and hopefully have this in my possesion by fall.... Gary 8394
I understand Valentino Balboni has access to the machine. There is a guy in Australia I belive that dies it repro. Bobileff has access to a source that does it, may be one of these, not sure.
A couple of years ago Bobileff suggested the factory to me because at that time there was a guy local in LA who advertised this servive but he said the results weren't very good. Gary, On my seats the seat back vents are simply punched with a single die by hand. The pattern was laid out in light pencil which the factory left on there ... The way it's done for the front faces is the horizontal strips of leather that make up the seat are run thought the machine one piece at a time and the seat face is sewn together. So an assembled seat face has to be taken apart or replaced. Bob S.
When Gary had my car last summer we talked then and he indicted someone on the US had tried with lazer cutting ? but it left marks . He indicated the factory is the only was to go but if the gent in france has a contact i would love to connect with that person as well. Olivier do you have the gents contact inforin Cannes? Joe who does seat Perforations when they restore P400 Countachs on this continent? Gary 8394

I'm sorry I indeed missed that question at the end of your post. Countach LP400 have no perforations on the seat insert strips, but later LP500S to 1988.5 QV do. In any regard you now have the source from the man himself (Bruno Paratelli) who originally made them. Best, Joe
Yes, Bruno Paratelli is the man! The last time I visited his shop was last year, his shop can accept about 3 cars max, he was doing an Urraco and an LP400 (orange car and blue interior - striking!). Regarding Countach perforations, in 1987 I believe the production was moved back into the factory and the '87's did not have the perforations - maybe an owner can chime in?
Alex, Regarding the perforations in the seat insert strips: a good rule of thumb is to say that generally speaking, ALL five (5) litre Countachs except the Annivesario received them. Of course, as we all know, the operative words are "generally speaking". I know of at least one USA fuelie QV in original trim without the perforations. Anyway, just to prove that 1987 Countachs did have perforations, here is 12155 (quattrovalvole downdraft), exactly as Mike Taylor picked it up at Sant Agata. Gents in order to maintain some control over the process i think it only fitting that someone in Canada sew up my interior > And yes besides hoclkey players and igloo makers there are plenty that can do the job and do it properly . So with that being said I think the plan would be for me to buy the leather then send some to italay for perforations , have it shipped home and incorporated into the sew. So who wants to sell me the leather the proper leather in the proper period tan color ???? any takers gary 8394

Looking nice Gary. And now closer and closer to the goal... Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
**** what a difference from when we saw it last week Gary! awesome colour btw, I hope that shed can still stand after all this rain we've been having
I've got a few pieces left over from my tan color of the Countach. no problem for me to mail you a piece. According to my original owner's book which was filled out by the factory the interior of my car is "Champagne" otherwise called "Tan". I could ask Paratelli for the amount of leather required and a price if you wish. That ruby red looks sharp!
Alex; Sending me a peice would be most generous and if you could find out how much i need this would be very helpful. I will PM you my home address. I think on this thread there is a photo of a leather swatch for espada and Urraco I will look for that > My thinking is by the time i do all the legwork summer will be gone and someone will be ready to sew..........
