Does anyone know how to disconnect the built in radar detector on a 355? The constant beeping is driving me crazy. I am hoping it is a matter of removing a fuse or something simple. It is a 1990 model. Thanks in advance for any input.

I would have thought that it is an after Market installation as I've never known of a 355 to have one fitted from factory, most are either wired back to fuse box in the passenger footwell, behind the radio or to the cigarette lighter supply, hopefully with a fuse in line

If it is beeping every 15 sec or so, it means that one of the detectors or wiring is bad. My understanding is that it is usually the rear (if you have front and rear) because often the wire runs too close to heat. In my case, the rear detector was actually missing when I bought my 355. Once I replaced it, the beeping when away. If it is bad wiring in the engine bay, it may be an easy fix. Find the rear detector and trace it back.

Thanks, I have been looking around the rear of the engine bay and the back of the bumper underneath and cannot seem to locate the rear sensor. Do you know where they were mounted and what they look like? Apparently I do have a problem with it as it beeps every 10 to 15 seconds. Thank you!

LOL!! So you have a 1990 355 ey ;) Anyways does it happen to be a 355 spider? If so i have a theory :D Other spider owners will get my drift ;)
By the way, there are no factory fitted detectors.

Yes 1999 sorry, I have a couple of others, like remembering childrens ages. It is actually a radar detector in the dash, it could have been added by a prior owner or a dealer. I may just try to cut it off until I can take it to the dealer, I need to have the recall work done anyway. Sorry about the year mistake, I am sure it will be sorted soon.

Mine was doing the same thing (K40) but it was the front sensor. I took it to a local K40 dealer and they fixed it, I think it was about $160.00??? He said it has different beeps for the front and the back (when somethings wrong)??? Something like 3 beebs for back and 2 for front or somthing like that. Should be an easy fix once you find someone to do it..:)

Do you still have this Ferrari? I got one a few months ago and I’m trying to figure out if I have a built in radar detector as well. It beeped for the first time when I passed a radar producing speed limit sign.
