anyone else have this issue? 3 races in a row, i get one minute of recording a "live" race and that's it. My plasma narrowly avoided getting a coffee mug hurled through it, again.

I've given up on trying to actually RECORD a race. No matter what I do, I end up
with CSPAN for 1.5 hours... third race in a row now. I have no idea what is going on...
    worked fine last season.

I've now just resigned myself to finding a torrent download of the BBC coverage.
WAY better than speed - but the downside is it usually takes at least a day before
there are enough seeds to download it in a reasonable time.

My Dish DVR has been picking up the races perfectly.

It had me worried last night, after I reset the timer to run 90 minutes over (instead of 60), in case of another long weather delay.
I woke up, glanced at the VCR (4:25 am) and then saw the DVR wasn't recording.
I tuned to Speed, and saw the cars running in the wet and thought, "dang, it missed the start".
Turns out Speed was running the qualifying replay. The (pre 2007) VCR had switched to DST (again) and was an hour fast.
The DVR correctly started at the "real" 3:30.
It just doesn't have a big clock display on the front. :p

It also seems to have a bit of editorial comment -- it marked Speed's Australian "Race Recap" as "redundant". :D

(I think it goes by "episode number", and they're all marked "episode 52" for some reason.)

Other than the fact that F1 races can not be pre programmed to record en-bloc like a TV series no issues.
Although for some reason Speed is listed as being on two channels and if you pick the wrong one you record to hours of program listings. (Please don't ask how I know).

I have Comcast in the Chicago area and didn't have a problem recording Malaysia. On the guide it had the live race, just selected it and selected record on Saturday.

Comcast DVR here. No problem the last three races. I always extend the recording an hour just in case there is a rain delay as I really like to watch the post-race interview.

I would call the company. Perhaps you need a new unit...I have had to replace mine 2x in eight years. Good luck and may the horse be with you! ;)

I also have Comcast and have never had any issues as you describe.
We DVR all the sessions and have not missed one yet.
Hope you get to the root of the problem.
I remember one time years ago - long before DVRs and SpeedTV - when they changed the broadcast time of the tape delayed Italian GP causing me to miss it.
The keys in my hand flew across the room in anger.
Missing Monza is not a good thing for any tifo.

My guess is it's a "local Comcast office" issue - they willy-nilly alter the ACTUAL
schedule for "middle of the night" programming on the thought that "who is REALLY
watching this?".... just my guess. All I know is I've given up trying and now get
my F1 from a torrent download on the Linux server.

I'm on Directv and simply have "Formula one racing" as my highest priority series recording - Picks *everything* up just fine - Including the Acura pre-race snooze-show and repeats (if not disabled.)

Incidentally, it also handled the time-change just fine as well.

    Cheers,
    Ian

I have ATT U-Verse and have had no problems. I have set it to record the series, both qual and race, and to run over by an hour. Have not missed a thing
