Oh you're right! I thought it was a front engined car just because the bonnet was so long, but wikipedia says it's a mid-engined car.

Well Merc did it with the Gullwing and Ferrari did the same with the California, so it looks like it makes pretty decent financial sense even if Merc's execution is rather questionable.

Problem is there is no date on the Spider yet. Suppose to be Geneva 2011. Looks like they may delay coz it will cannibalize the California. So the Mclaren will hit our shores around or earlier than the Spider. 12 deposits is approximately 6 mths of production. Hope this clarifies how you will choose
