Read this interesting article in Air and Space the other day about the company Sage-Popovich. They specialize in repossion of transport category aircraft. I found it really interesting and am thus linking it here.

That guy must have quite the press agent! I've seen several articles about him, and I don't know if I believe half of it.

Makes you wonder why he wants publicity so badly, given his business...

I think he's looking for a network bid for a reality show...

Watch me sneak up and repo this airplane, while my camera crew (and of course, sound guy with boom mike) follows along! That's authentic, right there.

In all fairness when you come for a 747 I doubt you just hop in and fly off. You'd at least need the logbooks and tech records, you need to fuel the damn thing, how do you know if it's airworthy or safe to fly?

My point is is that when you come for a 737 the airline knows you're there, they have too, there is just no way around it. So maybe the story is sensationalized, but I still think it's interesting and I believe that there are companies that the job.

On a side note just because he's looking for a reality show (he may or may not be) doesn't mean he's not legit....we're currently shooting a reality show at my workplace, and I assure you I work for a legit company that pays me very handsomely thankyouverymuch. ;)

I agree-- that's why I was pointing out the silliness of it all.

    Let me guess-- Ice Pilots?

I've only seen the previews, but it looks pretty cool. It has quite the following over on propilotworld.

    Yes Ice Pilots....

It's a bit corny, and slightly exaggerated in the narrative but it is a fairly accurate representation of the day-today operations
