BTW, the best e-mail contact for me is [email protected].

[email protected] has been known to drop a few e-mails but we will get that sorted. I don't get texts unfortunately, so I apologize if anyone has had difficulty making contact.

Sorry about that... Yes, I finally did talk to a tech at SACH's. They did show the part number for the Countach (disc, bearing and pressure plate), but their records show that it was used ONLY on the Countach!! No cross reference to any other car (Porsche, etc..).

So, I think we are out of luck.. I know that Chad had also investigated a while back, and found out that same thing.

I would say, clutch specs do not need to be exactly original.
Mike, did you ask "Sach tech", are there NEAR similar part to be found?
Usually, people working on some product do not have as wide angle to overview thing.

No, I didn't ask him. After I talked to Chad about the clutch, he told me that the Countach used a very "odd" sized clutch (something like 9 3/8"). If Chad is reading this thread, feel free to chime in.

One thing I do remember the Sach's tech telling me (and this made me laugh), was he said they used to keep a Countach "release" bearing around the office because they couldn't believe how expensive it was!! I told him, "you should see the price of it now!!!!!!". I thought the poor guy was going to have a heart attack when I told him the Lamborghini price was over $6000.00 for them!! He went on to say to that it is possible to rebuild them, and given that price he certainly would do it. So, I did speak to Bill @ GT Car Parts and they do rebuild them and have never had a failure. So, when my clutch is pulled, my release bearing is going to them in Arizona for rebuilding.

I spoke to Wil about this clutch upgrade a couple months ago. I'm just not sure it would be for me.... from what I've heard, the Kevlar clutches tend to be "grabby" and you have to keep the rev's up while letting the clutch out, otherwise the car stalls. Peter, do you have this in your car? How do you like it? Also, Chad is working on the same set up, but will sell it as a kit so you can put the clutch in yourself (or have your shop do it). Wil's kit is so expensive ($15,000.00) because it includes the labor to pull the engine, install the clutch and put the engine back in.

I have Kevlar from Wil, not this kit though. It works perfect.
I suppose if I have an engine out and needed a clutch, I would do this service.

For the last year we have been hearing of the demise of the Euro, but it still hovers at one thirty something, so the steady exodus of cars hasn't slowed yet.

My Countach is sold, went to LA. Really miss the car. Interesting buyer and got to meet 2NA as he did the PPI. Urraco might be going to Germany, have a deposit and have tried to return it 4 times. What is going on in Europe and older Lambo's?

My Jalpa is all a have for Lamborghini's - Have had offers on it as well.
