aka "Stoogefest Vegas 2010". Bruce arrived in Las Vegas on 4/6/10 @ 9:15pm and we went immediately to WalMart to get Tequila and ear plugs... apparently Bruce and Ernie both snore! Ernie arrived at about 10:30pm. We hung out at my place for a bit and had a few laughs and a few drinks. At about 12:45 they went to their hotel, and they were back at my house at 10:15am on Wednesday morning. No nonsense, no BS, it was down to business immediately... Some were left loosey, while others were reversey loosey. For the next guy doing this, the ring nut on the mainshaft, on the oil pump side of the tranny (the side that has the speedo sender, with the phonic wheel on the shaft) is reversey loosey, meaning you remove it twisting clock wise. Then on the other side of the gear gearbox the ring nut that is reverse thread is the one on the layshaft (that's the shaft that runs in the back of the box).
Despite our mission running into unforeseen tragedy, it was really great to meet this 2 notorious brothers, what great guys!! They were a blast to hang out with, between Bruce's jokes and 1-liners, and Ernie's singing and spontaneous original lyrics, there was never a dull moment!! I feel privileged that I got a chance to know these guys on a personal level, and I respect them and their skills more than I ever thought possible!
The fatman responded in Thread #2 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=279394 and he said that it was an "up grade". I was thinking that but I couldn't remember if it was the later cars that got more splines, or if it was just the 355's, or the spiders, or what. Anyway if you get the new set make sure that it come with the output shaft, and both drop gears you have in the pic you sent me. Oh Chubba, Plugz has the gearbox. He really like using it as an air freshener. LOL I dunno if he is gonna be taking to your place tomorrow? Or wait a minute, are you out of town?
Russ at Ferrparts took those pics of the actual parts kit he will send me... IF you guys agree that it's the RIGHT parts kit, i'll have him send it. If FBB will PM me with his shipping address, i'll have Russ ship it directly to him. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Say while you are posting pics, post up the pics of Especiale tool #64 , and how it gets used to hold the bearings. And Check out the work or Canadian brother Daniel is doing on his box http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=234915

From pics looks right. I'm still outta town. Send everything to bruce so all the parts are in one place. We don't need 4 people having stuff. That is how things get lost.
Good times, good guys. I'm stoked that we may have a replacement for the unobtanium clutch shaft. The birth defect has been passed down through generations of Bogart men. Uncle Humphrey had 3 cheeks.
Steve, The shaft and gears as pictured determine the ratio. You will have to look in the woork shop manual book to see which ratio you have and what ferrparts is sending you. One set from the mondial T gives better acceleration. One set originally for the 348 gives more top speed. There is really not that big a deal to me I have driven both. There are followers in both camps however. So you gotta decide.
BTW, FBB, all the Chickens in Nevada send you a thank-you for leaving them with their wings! Steve was prepared to feed, too, with a cow in the fridge!
