I am in the midst of making final decisions on my new 458 and am struggling with color. Of course this is completely subjective, but I have decided to go with a maroon/burgundy. I am trying to identify the deepest and richest color for the car. I can go with a solid like Rosso Barchetta or a metallic. I have had difficulty actually seeing cars in the various burgundies and would appreciate any thoughts or pictures!

Thanks for the help, this car is going to be awesome!

Deep & rich Burgundy will be a great color!

    Michael,
Do you know what colors these are by any chance?
I am so conflicted. In my mind I can visualize it looking great in a sold like Rosso Barchetta or in a metallic. I guess there is no perfect answer, but it is so much more difficult not seeing the car in the color.

Thanks to all who replied! I will post pics of the car when it arrives in late July/early August.

Unfortunately a picture is not worth a thousand words – or even one. I have seen a few burgundies/wines/mahoganies that have been supreme. But not on a Ferrari. I understand your pain. How many Ferrari factory colors are there in this range?

My vote is for Rossa barchetta. I had it on my last Ferrari and I absolutely loved it.

As an added bonus, it has a lot of history as it was the original Ferrari red.

Colors all look different on a car with all the curves and flat panels. Even the colors submitted here are different on each monitor. I have attached however a doc file of Ferrari colors. Cant remember where I got it but been on my computer for ages.

Several of those I show are Prugna. Rosso Barchetta is fantastic.

Even a few of those Aston colors are okay, but being an Aston ruins it since I have personally had such poor experiences with the lot of them.

Rosso Rubino is beautiful. I had a 612 that color and it was gorgeous!

I would go with the first photo that Michael B posted of that 250 PF Ser. I Spider - that's a beautiful shade. I don't know off-hand what the S/N of that car is, but if you find out, you could quote that to your dealer ("...paint it in the colour of S/N ____...").

I agree, rosso rubino is the best of the burgundy's - really beautiful in the right light. Barchetta is flat to my eye. Rosso fiorano is too pinkish, never liked it much. So my vote is rubino over cuoio. Good luck.

The owner of the Korean dealer has a Scud in I believe Rosso Monza?

It's a burgundy from the 3-layer range. Looks absolutely incredible. I would recommend that.

Thank you everyone! Great thoughts, pictures and all!

I decided on Rubino. With the incredible curves on the car, I think the metallic will set them off best. Tough decision. Now if I can only survive the wait over the next several months! I will post pictures here for sure when the car arrives.
The interior is going to be a combination of Sabbia leather and Alcantara with Bordeaux stitching.

Did you use Photoshop to put these together? They were really helpful! Is it possible to do one in Rubino? Thanks so much, these are really cool!

i vote for a nonmetallic, deep, rich blood red(darker than racing red).
some 550's came in a dark red, but in person it just did not "pop".
i think the 355's came in a nice dark red. post a request in the 355 section.
    what color interior?
also, i've heard that burgundy cars in general do not have a good resale audience.

I just did this one, this is fairly close to Rubino. The color looks different in pretty much every light, but I think this is pretty close. Good choice!
