I just got off the phone with one of the service officers.. he couldn't give a straight yes/no. I asked what if I changed rims... does that void the warranty? He couldn't answer.
they let me scud wheels thru no problem, but I dunno if that wud have been the case with the HRE's despite HSM turning the blind eye.
I am guessing that there is no skin off the agents backs to honour warranty claims. Its a back to back transaction for them. There is no upside for them to block claims.
Wow that's a fantastic post Harold! I can't believe someone managed to buy a multimillion dollar car for just 750 bucks once upon a time! Btw don't you think that the 599 GTO is somewhat underserving of its GTO title? The car isn't even raced! And ironically enough, its race going variant, the 599XX, does not even meet the specifications to enter any race event because of all its active aerodynamics.
I totally agree. Like I said before, I feel that the minor increase in performance does not justify the title of GTO and the huge price tag.
had my 360 spider for abt a year and nothing happened that entitled me to call on the warranty. have had the 360 cs almost 2 years .had the warranty for the 1st year but when gearbox sensor failed, hs said it was wear n tear or electrical stuff so not covered! after some haggling they reluctantly covered the sensor under the warranty but not some of the ancillary stuff that had to be replaced as part of the job! personally i think u need to carefully weigh cost of the extension (is it 8k) with likely cost of replacing things that cld go wrong (which is potentially catastrophic financially). need to read the power cube warranty carefully n check with ital whether failures due to wear n tear is covered! also just because u switch back yo orig exhaust may not rectify the voiding in the first place. since i allowed the warranty to lapse on the cs, ive had to replace my f1 pump and gear selection sensor ,total abt 7k so now real loss in that sense esp since both items cld be said to be wear n tear n who knows if its covered. .btw,hs wanted >20k to replace the whole actuator assembly ,which i thot was crazy and thanks to ben, sanity and money was preserved. also ,changing timing belt is not covered by warranty of course and neither is clutch change i believe. with warranty u are of course also limited to doing all repairs n maintenence with agent which can be more expensive overall. on the plus side , ive put in tubi exhaust, cats and remapped ecu without fear and also the cs tricolor sticker! all in all i think i did the right thing not renewing but check your potential car's service n repair history n decide for yourself. good luck!
ps. i have a spare new 360 cs tcu which can be fitted to 360 (easy plug n play job )for faster shifts. anyone interested please pm me.but this will void warranty i think tho its technically oem ferrari item
