Mate, was looking at the car for some time.... overpriced was the general verdict and 912 is the least desireable of the early 911's.... check out the PorscheSG forum....
Yes mate, truth be told its a bit sad that the GTO name has been brought back on a non competition model, but having said that, the genetics of the 599 are closest to the original... but it will never match the aura of the real deal....
going in the opposite direction for a while - one horsepower as opposed to 500 bhp. will try and post some pictures later today. anyone else wanting to do a ferris bueller?
Thanks to everyone for their feedback & opinions. Jon, you say this car might belong to a friend of yours? Do you have any idea where he has been getting it serviced as I checked with HSM & ITAL and neither have seen the car since Dec 07? The dealer I'm going through says the timing belt was changed at 8k km & its been regularly serviced but obviously not by either agents. Also with low km's I'm worried about how much it has been used, as I guess lack of usage especially in this environment could prove troublesome with cracking hoses etc. But my biggest concern remains buying it without the warranty as if it had it I'm sure I would have bought it already. My heart keeps telling me just to buy it, but being my first I want to make sure I do it right.
Take a look at the 360 Buyer's guide.. loads of useful information there. http://www.****************/library/guides.php#37 360 is quite reliable IMHO but just be mentally prepared. Its a F-car and parts are not cheap. Lets say if you encounter...a faulty aircon blower...it will set u back $4-5k (some parts are not modular in design hence you need to replace the entire unit). Just do your homework and take the plunge...an F-car experience is priceless!
Hello everyone. First time here posting. Took the plunge into a F430 Spider. Look forward to reading everyone's posting. Hope you guys don't mind me asking some ignorant questions in the future about how to best drive this wonderful piece of art! Also, look forward to meeting you guys for drives!

Congrats & welcome to the ownership club! This is when life begins. As for driving it, grab it by the scruff of the neck & throw it around like a rag doll, & never touch the Auto button! Not that I do that personally of course
Speaking of the Auto button, is there a way to make the car not start in auto? Mine always defaults to auto despite the fact that I never use it.
Thanks Lung, Derek and Sareve for the quick reply! Definitely take your advice on that Derek. Yep...either life begins or work harder! Image Unavailable, Please Login
