Has anyone every seen these up close? For 30 bucks I may order a set. Worst case I could put them on the Beer Frig in the stable.

I've seen some and they looked very nice, they looked like they would cost more than $30, though. They make ones that look like stickers too which are pretty cheap looking, IMHO.

I ordered a magnetic set off of eBay. They looked and felt cheap. I couldn't really bring myself to put them on the car other than to see how I liked the look. I ended up ordering a pair of Yoshi Shields and installed them this past weekend. I'm still not sure that I love the look, but the Yoshi shields are night and day better than the magnetic ones.

    that's where all mine are....

If you guys really want to get stylish get yourself a set of bubble stickers, buy a high powered magnet sheet from a hobby/craft store and make your own magnetic shields.... a step up from the cheap ones on ebay but not stupid pricy like the cloisonne ones

I bought some a few years ago. They are fine for my tool box. One on each side. Magnetic ones don't fit the curves of the car and fall off. If you want shields on the car get stickers. With a little heat they will come right off and not hurt the paint.

    Nice move, Martini.

I personally don't think they belong on street cars. Even as an option from the factory. That diminishes the uniqueness of the shields. It should be a pedigree badge, not a bling badge. Ferrari should market the shield as something special, not just another overpriced option.

We're talking about putting stickers and magnets on Ferraris, guys.

    Really?

Say it with me...BUMPER STICKERS AND MAGNETS.

Just admit that, in you ultimate quest for that one of a kind Ferrari, you're too cheap to have the fender recessed and a proper sheild installed so you put these tacky things on.

    C'mon now.... Take 'em off

I'm with you guys. The more I look at the car without the shields the better I like it. Should have taken them off years ago. Car looks much cleaner now. There are enough logos on the cars from the factory. No need to add more.

I gotta agree when I first got my car I felt compelled to put those stickers on... then I grew up and realized it looked more beautiful without them.... besides like you said there is no shortage of logos and identification on the car for you to realize it's a Ferrari.

I say go ahead and get the magnetic shields on, for Pete sake, it's magnetic you can REMOVE it anytime, if you don't like it take them off or if you're in the mood put them on. What's the big deal?:)

I purchased a set off ebay with the intention of putting one on the fire extinguisher in the car but the curvature of the extinguisher was too great/magnet too weak to hold. I now have one on the fridge in the garage and I stuck the other one on the lift. My son wants to put one on the fridge in the kitchen but the wife says no.

    Really?

You're going to psycho-analyze a bunch of people you don't even know based on one detail of their car?

Then go on to tell them what to do with their cars?

    Really?

Why is it that all the "modern" Ferraris have them? Along with the aluminum pedal and the bling knob? Are they all for racing?

    (...I race sometimes....I think I do.....)

"I personally don't think they belong on street cars. Even as an option from the factory."

TOTALLY agree. I think they look silly on a car driven on the road. Frankly, if Ferrari needs me to further advertise their old cars by putting stickers on them, then they can pay me to do so. Otherwise, it looks waaaay too "Look at me everybody, I drive a Ferrari. Yes, I put a sticker on it because it's so old that you may not recognize it's a Ferrari - yeah, I'd like to drive a new one but they are way too expensive for me to afford one." :)

Yes. Really....Since we're only talking about one detail of the car, then the answer is simple. No psycho-analysis necessary:

The ONLY reason owners stick something on their fender is because their car doesn't have a sheild and they want it to look like a car that has a one. It's expensive to do the recessed fender conversion and a sticker is the next best thing. To me it's like putting on a temporary tattoo.

Okay then.... Do what you want, because it's your car. I gave my opinion, that's it. Some may agree and some may not. I'm fine with that. We can all disagree on some things and still remain friends. I'm sure you're a helluva guy Maestro. if you're ever in Dallas, I'll buy you a drink.

    Thanks, Mike.

I bought a pair of shield magnets. As was said previously - they are too weak to stay on the car. Period.

If I had it to do over - would definitely NOT have bought the shields.

I could care what a new model has or has not. I like the way the shields looks on my QV, so I stick them on the fenders. It's the yellow against the red that looks great. Then when I want a change for awhile I peel them off, and then vice versa.

Like the oil filter, I have a chrome cover with a Ferrari sticker on it that covers the filter. I like it. Then sometimes I just like looking at the Baldwin filter, so it comes off.

    And I aluminum gas cap.

And at some point, I'll do something with the oil fill cap.

None of this in bling, we're not putting Vtec stickers on these cars, coffee can toners on the exhaust pipes, or neon purple lights in the foot wells. When you own a Ferrari, and put a Ferrari logo on it, it's not pretend.

What I really don't understand is this thread, and what the big deal is all about.
