Short answer: it's a parts car.

This car is just up the road from my house. It was the first Mondial I ever looked at.

The car starts and drives, but not for long. It has overheating issues. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Looking through the car, I couldn't find a single thing that didn't need work. The interior's shot. Neither the A/C or heater work. Lots of electricals inoperable. The body is corroded in some areas.

My amateur 10 minute engine inspection didn't turn up anything alarming though. The oil looked clean and the coolant smelled sweetly. It hunts at idle, but there are a few missing vacuum lines that might be the culprit here. No smoke, no rattling, no leaks as far as I could see.

The icing on the cake is the $200 rattle-can paintjob on the car. They even got overspray all over the emblems!

That being said, if anyone would like me to visit the car & take some more pictures, etc., feel free to ask... I'd be happy to oblige!

That '77 looks even worse than the Euro '77 from last week that had a non original wet sump motor in pieces. We deemed that car to be a goner and probably a 'parts' car. This one looks like it already has been a 'parts' car and riffled through with remains being thrown on ebay. Looking at the engine bonnets vents, fire possibly?

    Here is one though.........

Still probably not a cost effective project, but it would make one hell of a track car.

the rust isnt too bad. Just have to replace that firewall. If I had more space I would take on that project and Drop in a 328 engine and Trans. It could be pretty fun......

Thats the spirit! I wish more people were willing to perform Ferrari to Ferrari engine swaps on 3x8s. It would save us from seeimg too many bastardized American powered Ferraris out there and would help 'quell' all the slow and no performance options 308 speak.

Yes, why? I stopped in to their place to look around & tripped across it. It really didn't look too bad.

And since I would have to repaint the entire car. I would get rid of the horrible U.S. side markers and opt for the french looking ones, repaint the entire car and then put on 16 inch rims and 86 the 14 inch metrics.... Upgrade the brakes a little for some more stopping power and just enjoy the ride.. Maybe do a back seat delete to save on resto costs and recycling some of the leather bits on ebay to help with the costs offset...

I can't decide between a GTB/GTBi/GTB QV or a Mondial Cabriolet, given up on any other marques, I know these cars best.

    From the ads:

"WE ARE GOING TO RESTORE THIS CAR, BUT YOU CAN GET IT FOR THE LOW PRICE OF $19,500.00 BEFORE WE RESTORE IT; WHEN WE GET DONE WITH THE FERRARI 308GTI, WE WILL BE ASKING ABOUT $38,500.00 FOR THE FERRARI; GET IT NOW BEFORE WE START ON THE FULL RESTORATION"

I don't what they meant by "full restoration", but $19,000 for a Ferrari full restoration seems low to me, maybe the buyer should wait for them to complete the full restoration.

2v injected cars are not as valuable as early carb cars or the QVs. i have had 5 308s so far, and i doubt i will buy a 2v injected car over a 76-77 or QV.

i may look for a "regular" 78-79 308 GTS, red / tan for a change, as i have had some strange 308s.

hoping one of my 911's sells soon.

What are the quick details on your 911's for sale? I have a friend who is shopping for late 70's-mid 80's 911's right now.
