I found a great insurance company for our cars. I went to Barrett Jackson who is now offering car insurance for our toys. I have full coverage including uninsured motorist. With an agreed value of $200k for an Annual Cost of $900!!

    Key features are:

Worldwide protection1, including during shipping and transit
Protection from depreciation at claim time
Up to 150% of the Agreed Value
    Repair shop of choice

This is the link to their site. When you call ask for Amy. She is the best!

Ya know, Barrett Jackson is NOT an insurer. The underwriter is Chartis, a spin-off from AIG. The same smiling folks we had to bail out during the Great Recession. If you’re a tax payer they should give you the policy for free.

    BJ is an originator.

I have found the great insurance companies can only be found when it's time...for them to pay up.

Without a huge negotiation or hassle.

The insurance is pretty much useless for anyone who actually drives their car.

I don't know why anyone would waste their time with insurance like this when Liberty Mutual covers my 360 for less than $700/year which is more like less than $500/year when you consider they let me go with only comp during the winter months. That's dirt cheap when you consider what it would cost to fix the car if something happened. I believe the collector car insurer rates are full year whether you drive the car in the winter or not.

It's classified as a pleasure use car and my limit is 7,000 miles per year. I won't get anywhere near that. I'm covered under the same terms as my other cars, just can't break the mileage limit. Probably can't deliver pizzas with it either.

They first misquoted me without the pleasure use classification and it was only a few hundred more dollars a year. State Farm also does pretty good for rates on Ferraris.

I have Layland West, which I think does the actual insurance through American Modern. The options are 2,500 miles/year or 5,000 miles/year. I won't go over the 2,500 (not by choice, just because I only use the car on nice weather weekends when I have time :) ) It's a good option if you drive under 5,000/year.

Anyway, I have been using these guys for years- several years ago a deer jumped in front of my 911 and they covered the full repair from the Porsche dealer using all genuine parts with NO HESITATION- no questions or anything. My insurance went DOWN the following year (I think a deer hit is an act of God or something- basically it wasn't my fault). Anyway, Leland is TOP NOTCH. Unfortunately I don't remember what I pay, but its probably about $400-500 for my 360. I'll let you know exactly if you want...

I just got a quote from the Barrett Jackson insurance as well. I am currently paying $1100 for my 01 360 Spider with Travelers, and that is insuring the vehicle for what I paid, since they don't do an agreed upon coverage price. Barrett Jackson is covered by Chartis which is an A rated insurer and has been in business over 20 years. They gave me a price of $500 for the year with $250K/$500K limits and an agreed upon value of $110,000. I just cant drive the car more than 2500 miles a year, which I dont.

    Seems pretty good to me!

State Farm @$980 per year in LA County and 7,500 miles per year, which seems like a good deal to me.

Most of the well known insurance companies will not insure your Ferrari for a "stated value" in case the car is totaled. Companies like State Farm and Alstate will give you a depreciated value.

The policy I got from Barrett Jackson is 300k/100k; $200k on specified value; Car limited to 4k miles a year. I had the policy last year at cost of 1K but deciede to lower the value in case of loss

As an Insurance Broker for 20 Plus Years, my best recommendation would be to check with an Independent Agent, as well as several of the direct writers. The rates could vary tremendously depending on what state you are in, what city you are in, what your age is, driving record, etc.

As a new Ferrari owner, I just added my F430 to my policy and it ran around $1100.00 per year which was just slightly over my Hummer to insure. Went with a very low Comp Deductible as I don't want to pay for windshields the Bay Area Roads love to damage. On the same weekend I bought my Ferrari, one of my clients bought a 360 spider. His premium was in the $900.00 per year range.

Would also recommend you do a thorough review of all of your policies. Some companies may give you a great rate on the autos, only to charge you hundreds or thousands more on the home and other policies. I got a quote from one of my competitors and they were a little lower for the autos, however twice what I was paying for the home insurance.

I'm in South Florida and just switched my ins to Barrett-Jackson at a substantial savings on my 04 360 with a 2500 mile annual limitation. Many thanks for sharing this source with us.
It is exactly the type of policy I've been looking for.
