I was remembering the 599XX recently and it seems like this could be the next super collectible. Very limited production run / 10 seconds quicker around Fiorano than an Enzo / very high degree of F1 technology incorporated. The 599 is perhaps the most loved modern day Ferrari and to make a more aggressive version - especially this extreme - is a perfect hit. Imagine this thought - powertrain in the future could change by a great amount, and this could maybe be one of the last, if not The last, to be so raw and have a 9k redline and straight pipes! I think of it as being similar to the 993s being the last of the 'great' air-cooled Porsches, just more extreme. Can you just imagine being behind the wheel here: http://www.dpccars.com/car-videos-10/04-21-10page-Ferrari-599XX-at-Miller-Motorsports-Park.htm

The 250 GTO has a serious racing heritage that most likely no car will ever have again, for the lack of important events a car like the 599 can compete in, and the fact that driving to the track, winning a race and driving back home in the same car isn't possible anymore.

Things have changed. Nothing will ever be in the same class as the 250 GTO.

Nope. This is a Track Toy not a race Car.

I'm not sure anything can ever touch the 250 GTO....it's one hell of a machine. Those days are long gone :(

Echoing the above, I think it will be similar to the 333sp. Regardless of the newer technology, and higher performance, I personally would prefer the 333sp in the end anyway.

    What they all said.

The 599 is just a smart marketing play.

    FNCK NO!!

When it comes 2nd overall at Le Mans and wins the World Manufactures Championship 3 times in a row we'll think about reconsidering.

No. Too bad they wasted the GTO name on a tweaked 599. Then again, I just contradicted myself because the 288 GTO was a tweaked 308, even though it was going to be used to race.

I think it's a waste too. Nobody seems to remember what GTO stands for. It applied with the 288 (well, it would have if they hadn't cancelled group B). Not so much now.
