This company currently has approximately 1 to 5 employees and annual sales of Under $500,000. Founded in 1999. interesting is that there's no names involved with this...... I would venture to say this computer graphics group may be part of it if you look at their logo on facebook - interesting use of font, background and the G and P in group or someone else who knows Adobe Illustrator. Another interesting thing is that Mike Fuller (Mulsannemike) is a twitter follower - he was employed at the defunt us effort. Can't believe someone suggested Marco and Scott Speed for drivers, Danika (someone needs a spelling lesson!), Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Tommy Kendall (TransAM times) - this is going to be interesting to say the least. Carol Is this really for real - they (Cypher Group) just posted this on Facebook: Americas F1 Team sponsored by McDonalds....Sounds good! 7 minutes ago ·
I think one of their Twitter posts places them in North Carolina. The heart of motorsports in the USA and the place with the best carbon fibers. >8^) ER
If this is legit, theoretically, they could purchase the equipment USF1 left behind at a discount and be decently set up (assuming it all hasn't been repo'ed or auctioned yet). Realistically, where else in the US could they be better set up than North Carolina? I really would like to see some US team actually have a go at it. I think US engineering is tops in the world when given freedom, and think we have all the resources to make something successful. In my opinion, all that is needed is someone with the brains, connections, and experience to head it up and it could work....my fingers are crossed. Mark
The only thing that I know for sure is that it will be twice as hard for any US team since USF1 imploded. Cue up "Won't get fooled again"
an understatement if this is him (nice films, huh??) this may explain some of the bizarre followers on facebook!! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0194231/ Carol (photo caption) Sideshow act Circus Mundus Absurdus getting ready to get on the stage. They've established accounts with Facebook and Twitter? Anyone going to these extreme lengths must be for real; they certainly can't be some middle aged afterthoughts sitting in their mother's basement in central France with their tighty whities pulled up to their chest bashing out padantic drivel could they? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=052p3fZe2Gk&feature=youtube_gdata RM
Just doing some internet research...some sources believe this is a group of former USF1 employees who weren't please with how the team was run by KA and PW but still want to get a US team on the grid. I just hope they have the connections and/or resources to make this happen. Mark
Maybe we should all start our own team and ask this guy to fund it. I am sure he is trying to figure what to do with his money. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36723890/ns/us_news-wonderful_world/?GT1=43001
that would be most interesting, reckon he'd hit it off with Bernie? latest entry on the group's facebook page: There's something very shady about all of this. First off, the name - "Cypher" Group. That's a very interesting name that's full of interpretations. Is this the remnants of US F1? Is Ken Anderson involved in any way? no response to this yet.. nand I've come to the conclusion that their only asset at this point is the book - 10th Edition Familar Quotations. Carol
Just to clarify - starting Twitter and FB accounts doesn't give them any validity in my eyes either. I provided the links so that people could follow any progress that is made through them if they wanted to. >8^) ER
well, we are headed into summer soon...we need a thread like this to get us through to the winter months!
